Other cultivators would most likely have a headache.
“No, no, none of these work!”
A few hours later, Qin Nan opened his eyes and shook his head.
The ideas were not enough to fully utilize his potential.
Then, what should he do?
“The Martial Progenitor Realm begins by producing a Martial Seed, which will continuously absorb the Qi of the Heavens and Earth before sprouting and growing into a Martial Tree. Each zhang is equivalent to a layer of the Martial Progenitor Realm…”
Qin Nan murmured.
He revisited the principles of the Martial Progenitor Realm, and after muttering them over a hundred times, he suddenly came to a realization. If he were planning to walk a completely different path, the key would be the force of the Divine God of Battle in his body.
“What does everyone’s Martial Progenitor Realm look like?
“Everyone has their own Martial Tree, which can only reach thirteen zhang at most. I believe that’s what Shi Qingfan, Chen Zilai, and Sorceress Qian Qian have achieved.”
“That would be the regular path of Martial Progenitor Realm!”
“If I were to choose…”
Qin Nan repeated the words over and over again as if he had been put under a curse.
Days began to pass.
The sun and moon took turns replacing each other’s shifts, as the day and night rotated rapidly.
While many things were taking place in the Dragon Emperor Clan each day, apart from a few, most people entirely forgot about Qin Nan’s existence.
As if he had been abandoned in a little corner.
However, on a particular night!
Qin Nan’s eyes suddenly sprang open with a great look of excitement.
Those who worked hard would be rewarded in the end!
After spending days deriving a solution, Qin Nan had realized something important!
Everyone only had a single Martial Tree!
What if he were able to produce a second, third, or fifth Martial Tree?
If he somehow achieved that, it would completely topple the rules of cultivation. Imagine in a battle, when both sides were third-layer Martial Progenitor Realm, which meant his opponent had a three-zhang tall Martial Tree, but Qin Nan had two-or even five-Martial Trees, who would win in the end?
The outcome was obvious!
Most importantly, the others might have had similar thoughts before.
But, only he had a unique characteristic!
A single stream of the force of Divine God of Battle was incredibly powerful, easily surpassing the sacred force!
Meanwhile, ten thousand streams of sacred force would produce a Martial Seed!
So why couldn’t he use his force of the Divine God of Battle to produce a second Martial Seed?
“That will be it!”
Qin Nan’s eyes burned passionately.
He would have a second Martial Tree, or a third, or a fourth, or a fifth…
If it was possible, he would go for a hundred, or a thousand!
When that happened, he could shake the Heavens and Earth by himself! The night breeze blew as Qin Nan’s eyes glittered, “I’ve got the idea now, but the problem is, my cultivation is still at the Divine Battle Martial Sacred Realm. I would need the support of a great force in order to have a breakthrough to rank up to the Martial Progenitor Realm…”
This was indeed a difficult problem.
Even though Qin Nan’s Divine Battle Spirit was currently second-grade Tian ranked, it would take Qin Nan a long time just to accumulate enough Qi to rank up to the Martial Progenitor Realm.
Besides, Qin Nan was not taking the ordinary way.
“The cultivators of the Middle Continent would normally find blessed places at various forbidden areas to go into seclusion and have their breakthroughs.”
Qin Nan pondered.
Should he set out on a journey to look for one too?
Qin Nan recalled something all of a sudden, “How could I forget the Dao Origin Chamber?”
The Dao Origin Chamber was built by the Dragon Emperor Clan to accumulate an abundant supply of the purest Qi specifically for the disciples to rank up to the Martial Progenitor Realm.
After all, the Dragon Emperor Clan had too many disciples, thus it was impossible to let them all go on adventures when they were planning to rank up.
Qin Nan took out the All-Knowing Scroll and took a glimpse at its contents, “There are still ten days left before the Dao Origin Chamber is open. I should cultivate here at the Human Peak until then.”
After saying this, he closed his eyes.
The Divine Battle Spirit emerged from his back and unleashed a terrifying absorption force, covering an area with a circumference of a few dozen li, causing the surrounding Qi to rush toward him in an astonishing manner.
Qin Nan’s aura began to pulsate as well.
Time swiftly passed. Ten days were gone relatively quickly.
Qin Nan opened his eyes and withdrew his aura, before leaving the Human Peak with a flicker.
The Dao Origin Chamber was located at the top of the Cultivation Peak.
On this particular day, apart from Qin Nan, there were many peak Martial Sacred Realm disciples who recently joined the Dragon Emperor Clan making their way here.
“So many people!”
Qin Nan stood at the foot of the mountain and glanced around with the left eye of the Divine God of Battle, leaving him astounded.
Apart from him, there were over thirty disciples at the place.
Following this, Qin Nan traveled past the halls and woods, before arriving at the place where the Dao Origin Chamber was located.
At the peak stood a dojo.
The dojo was not big, which only covered an area with a circumference of a hundred zhang. It was entirely purple in color, with giant statues of beasts placed around it, resulting in a sacred appearance.
Meanwhile, many disciples had already crowded onto the dojo, talking loudly with one another.
“I’m not sure if I will be able to acquire the top-tier spot this time!”
“Hehe, top-tier spot? In your dreams! There are only two of them!”
“You can’t say for sure, It all depends on your luck!”
The spots in the Dao Origin Chamber were classified into three ranks, which were the top-tier spots, middle-tier spots, and bottom-tier spots. In simple words, cultivating at the top-tier spots were more efficient than cultivating at the middle-tier or bottom-tier spots.
As for the allocation of the spots, it would be determined through a trial.
Qin Nan’s figure landed at the center of the dojo with a flicker.
The crowd raised their brows in astonishment.
Wasn’t this Qin Nan?
He was there too? Was he planning to rank up to the Martial Progenitor Realm?
At that instant, many disciples who were still having friendly discussions immediately withdrew their smiles as they glanced at Qin Nan with solemn expressions. They could not help but admit that this human disciple who was ranked two thousand and first during the Monarch Ranking Trial would be a powerful opponent for them.
“Yo, Qin Nan, you’re here too.”
A frivolous voice was heard.
Qin Nan and the crowd turned their heads toward the sound.
Xuan Yue wore an indifferent expression as he thoroughly unleashed his peak Martial Sacred Realm aura while walking toward Qin Nan with a hint of provocation.
“Why is he here too?”
“Damn it, he was already at the peak Martial Sacred Realm when he joined the clan. He’s definitely planning to rank up to the Martial Progenitor Realm.”
The crowd was uneasy after seeing both Qin Nan and Xuan Yue there.
The chance of them acquiring a better spot in the trial had dropped.
“Why can’t I be here if you’re here too?” Qin Nan calmly said.
“Is that what you think? I shall not waste my time with you. You’d better be careful once we enter the Dao Origin Chamber.” Xuan Yue stood firmly while his eyes emitted a cold flicker.
He still remembered the disgrace he had felt from being Qin Nan’s servant for a couple of days.
That was a complete humiliation!
How could the almighty Master Xuan Yue stand it?
He would surely teach Qin Nan a great lesson!
Although Xuan Yue was concerned about Qin Nan’s identity before this, that was no longer the case, as the chief had told him that he no longer needed to be Qin Nan’s servant. Furthermore, he would still make him a core disciple after two years.
Therefore, it was obvious that the chief had lost hope in Qin Nan.
Qin Nan glanced at Xuan Yue while his knuckles began to crack.
This guy was as disdainful as always. If I have the chance, I wouldn’t mind teaching him how to behave like a wolf.
The crowd was startled.
If these two were to fight against each other, their odds of acquiring a better spot would be higher.
Meanwhile, a powerful aura approached the dojo from the distance.
Qin Nan turned his head after being aware of it.
Moreover, Grandfather Tang could use this tactic to better understand the attitude of Northern City Clan. If Northern City Clan did not fight back and submit themselves to his mercy, that meant that they had nothing to do with the theft incidence at Tang Residence. Even if they knew something about it, it would likely be unimportant. However, if Northern City Clan acted aggressively to his attacks, and were desperate to escape, it meant that they were connected to the theft incidence.
Yet, even at that moment, Grandfather Tang was still skeptical of the information that Tang Yuan had provided: This clue, found by the infamous debauchees Jun Mo Xie, and Tang Yuan… is just not credible enough! No one else would believe it!
Sadly, I have only myself to blame, for taking things too far. But I am really desperate right now! Sigh, I will just think of this operation as helping the commoners get rid of some nuisance in the world. Catch a Tiger by the Tail However, if I were to find out that this is all because of those two douchebags trying to get even with each other… I will capture both Jun Mo Xie and Tang Yuan, and let them feel my wrath! Even Jun Zhan Tian cannot stop me! I will pummel Jun Mo Xie until he turns fat, and pummel Tang Yuan until he turns thin! Let their body be disfigured, for all I care!
Grandfather Tang’s face was extremely black and he gritted his teeth in silent fury.
As he watched the alley before him, sacks of tied up captives started to increase by the number. Grandfather Tang heaved in annoyance. He had already made up his mind to return home and teach the two douchebags a lesson: They have become too daring for their own good! The residence had been surrounded by half an hour already. Every single person that had tried to escape had been caught. Their inner Qi was sealed, their limbs were bound together, and they were gagged. The number of captives was rather significant, yet they remained meek and passive. Hence, Grandfather Tang believed that Northern City Clan was innocent; they had no connection with the theft of the Xuan Core.
That is no surprise. After all, what can this Northern City Clan actually do? Do they even have the guts to disturb the tiger whiskers of my Tang Family?
The experts from the Tang Family started to return, carrying fewer and fewer captives. The raid against the outskirts of Northern City Clan was done!
Grandfather Tang felt defeated. His face was twitching with annoyance as he cursed to himself: Tang Yuan! Jun Mo Xie! You two bastards! Senior will never forgive you! Both of you dare to coerce with each other and trick me into looking like a fool? I swear…
Grandfather Tang was not able to finish his thoughts because right at that moment, numerous silhouettes leaped out from behind the residential walls of the Northern City Clan. Each of them brandished their projectiles and fired. A torrential rain of projectiles begun to descend upon the experts from the Tang Family. Simultaneously, a war cry could be heard from behind the walls, and people started charging out from every single door of the residence! They were like an exploding grenade!
They had the balls to initiate war without stating their motive! They did not even intend to negotiate with Grandfather Tang! Not only that, all of them were running away as if their lives depended on it. It seemed like they were wishing that they were born with more than two legs so they could run even faster.
What does this mean?
Oh my god! This was such an intense reaction! Were they acting any differently from rebels? Grandfather Tang’s eyes were bulging in disbelief. The extreme turn of events had caused him to be overcome with shock for a moment. Grandfather Tang slapped his own thigh forcefully. The pain caused him to snap to attention. He was excited: There is going to be a show!
Exclamations of shock could be heard amongst the members of the ambush team from the Tang Family. The sudden change in scenario had all taken them by surprise. In addition, most of them were only at the Ninth Xuan Qi Level, which meant that they were still rather weak. Most of them had been hit by the projectiles and the injuries were not light. The uninjured men of the Tang Family scattered and lunged towards the members of Northern City Clan that were dashing out. The clanging of swords connecting from both sides rang throughout the night. Brilliant colors of purple, black, silver and gold lighted up the entire area, painting a spectacular scene.
It was as if the firing of the projectiles and the rushing out to fight by the Northern City Clan members had occurred simultaneously. Grandfather Tang’s eyes were wide open in surprise. His previous bleak expression had now changed into an excited one, and his hands were quivering agitatedly. A calm person for almost half his life, Grandfather Tang almost lost his composure and burst out: Holy shit! They are actually involved in the theft! I must have hit the jackpot! Grandfather Tang’s eyes were gleaning.
That son of a bitch! How am I to know that Tang Yuan could actually contribute something for once? Who was the one that mentioned that a blind cat cannot come across a dead rat? I will make sure to reward him properly when I return!
As he thought, Grandfather Tang suddenly became ashamed. He flitted his eyes around as if he had just committed a crime:
Uh, I think it was wrong of me to call Tang Yuan a son of a bitch. After all, that ‘bitch’ is my daughter-in-law…
The aggressive reaction from Northern City Clan confirmed that they had a connection with the Tang Family’s theft case. If not, why would the pathetic Northern City Clan dare to attack a Duke of the Empire and the family of the Minister of State Revenue? This family was the most powerful family in Tian Xiang Empire! Offending them was akin to trying to court their own death!
One by one, members of the Northern City Clan that had rushed out were captured and tied up. Grandfather Tang cleared his throat and straightened his posture. His gaze was penetrating yet his face remained expressionless. His beard fluttered in the night wind. Grandfather Tang was like an imposing stature. An aura of power and grit exuded from him as he ordered his men to give what the captives deserved.
“Smack!” A member of the Northern City Clan had been pummeled into midair. Before he could react, a rope had shot out and encircled his waist. It tightened and immobilized the man before he fell to the ground. A brutal punch landed on his face, causing his teeth to fell out. The man did not even have time to scream before a gag was stuffed into his mouth. He was then picked up and thrown several zhangs (3.04m) away. The entire process took place in a short span of a few seconds. As the man landed, he realized that he was not the only one. Everyone surrounding him was his comrades, and they were tied and gagged up too…
“Smack!” Another one!
All 246 experts of the Tang Family were now involved in the fight. They were invincible as they advanced inwards. No one could escape under their watchful eyes.
The Northern City Clan Leader, Qin Hu, was surrounded by three Gold level Xuan Qi experts. Regardless of which way he turned, how much he tried to fight or run, he was unable to escape. His face was etched with desperation. Nearby, an Earth Xuan expert stood watch with his hands behind his back. Qin Hu could not escape, and he could not even commit suicide! If their aim was not to capture him alive, he would have been kicked to the Underworld a long time ago. Qin Hu was feeling more desperate by the second!
As the experts from the Tang Family wrapped up their thorough search of the area, they began to gather into the yard. Some of them were still searching the yard meticulously, their eyes analyzing even the smallest detail. If they suspect that there was a hidden secret passage at a certain part, they would dig for three feet to verify their suspicion.
After a while, a triumphant voice called out, “Found it!” Grandfather Tang was overjoyed as he entered the courtyard. He noticed that the experts were dragging out several people. It was none other than Qin Xiao Bao, Qin Hu’s son. Along with him were several attractive women. Qin Hu had hidden them in the clan’s most secretive chamber. His intention was to keep his son safe in the event that his attempt to escape was unsuccessful. However, the experts from the Tang Family were too professional as they still managed to locate the hidden chamber. It was located merely a zhang below ground with a covert exit.
Upon realizing that his son was captured, Qin Hu despaired and gave up resisting. If not for fear that Qin Hu would fight till he dies, the three experts would have long since captured him! However, at that moment, Qin Hu had lost the will to fight. The three Gold level experts surged forward simultaneously and captured Qin Hu effortlessly. “Splat!” Qin Hu’s body crumpled to the ground. He no longer had control over his body nor his life.
Slowly, Grandfather Tang approached Qin Hu. Looking down at Qin Hu’s dejected face, he waved his hands in a shoo-ing motion. The surrounding men backed away immediately, giving both of them some privacy.
“Where is the item?” growled Grandfather Tang, his eyes boring straight into Qin Hu’s. His question was straight to the point so that Qin Hu would not have the opportunity to deny anything!
Such a question would lead Qin Hu to think that: Grandfather Tang knew that Northern City Clan was the one that had stolen the Xuan Core and that Grandfather Tang had proof of it. All that was missing was his cooperation. So long as Qin Hu had something to do with the theft of the Xuan Core, there was a 90 percent chance that his expression would give it away when he heard the question as a prisoner!
Sure enough, Qin Hu inhaled sharply in shock. His mouth was agape, he was tongue-tied and there was a look of desperation in his eyes! Grandfather Tang was observing his reaction carefully and was ecstatic at the response he was seeing. Finally, the suspense in his heart was abated.
It really is a jackpot! Oh, my dear Tang Yuan, you have finally managed to accomplish something! And a great accomplishment at that! Looks like there is actually some hope for you! Wait a moment, didn’t this matter came from that douchebag, Jun Mo Xie? A sudden thought came into Grandfather Tang’s mind: Having a bunch of debauchees together does not seem like such a bad idea after all. At least they had proven their usefulness at the critical moment. Didn’t everyone say that I used to be like a debauchee too? But right now…
Grandfather Tang realized that his thoughts had digressed and he composed himself. Regardless of whether he found the Xuan Core today, Grandfather Tang made a mental note to thank the Jun Family. The Tang Family now owe the Jun Family a huge favor! It was time to improve their relationship with the Jun Family…
“Wh… What is this Xuan Core? I… I do not know anything about it, Tang… Senior, why would you do this to us so suddenly? I…” answered a very flustered Qin Hu. His eyes were flashing and he was hoping that luck would be on his side.
“Oh, what a talkative little brat you are. You don’t remember anything about a Xuan Core? Haha… Don’t worry. I will make sure you remember,” smirked Grandfather Tang. He waved his hand and an expert from the Tang Family brought forward Qin Xiao Bao’s body. Qin Xiao Bao was thrown on the floor, and the expert left.
“Qin Hu, it is to my knowledge that you only have this one son. I promise that as long as you tell me everything, I will make sure that your son is not harmed, no matter what happens to the Northern City Clan. I give you my word that I will protect the last remaining heir of your Qin Family and make sure he remains safe and sound,” laughed Grandfather Tang in an amicable manner. “Unfortunately, if you still cannot remember anything, you will have to witness your own son’s suffering. When that happens, no one would have a happy ending. Do you understand?”
“Father! Save me!” wailed Qin Xiao Bao. Qin Xiao Bao had suffered through a very unfortunate year. At the start of the year, when he was walking the streets, he came across a beauty and could not help but catcall and flirted with her. Unfortunately, he was captured, his Dan Tian broken, and his Xuan Qi cultivation destroyed. After he recovered and he was finally able to move again, he went to a wine shop but was smacked on the face by a drunkard. Although he only cursed the drunkard, he was still beaten up and had his leg broken. As he cried his way home, he thought he would have a safe haven to nurse his injuries. Yet, something like this were to happen. He was carried and thrown around like a bag of rubbish despite his injuries. Qin Xiao Bao was currently an emotional turmoil. He was afraid, nervous, in pain, and despondent…
Grandfather Tang slowly stretched out his withered hand and stroked Qin Xiao Bao’s neck, similar to how one would stroke a frightened puppy to try to placate it. However, everyone knew that this was just an act. If Qin Hu’s answer was not what Grandfather Tang wanted, those withered hands would transform into those of the King of Hell!
Qin Hu heaved a deep sigh and lowered his gaze, “You win.” Grandfather Tang beamed and replied proudly, “Qin Hu, you are truly worthy of being a Clan Leader. You know how to settle a situation properly. I’m impressed.”
The sarcastic comment was like a tight slap to Qin Hu’s already bruised ego. His face was red with humiliation and it was an ugly sight. After mumbling to himself, he finally forced out the words, “I believe that Senior Duke is already aware that the theft was done under someone else’s commands. If it wasn’t, I would never have the courage to steal something from the Tang Residence. I would not want to court my own death. Even if we had wished to steal from you, we do not have the capital to… we simply cannot do it.”
“Go on,” urged an impatient Grandfather Tang. Grandfather Tang is an expert in the workings of the world. Given how weak Qin Hu’s Northern City Clan was, it was extremely unlikely for them to act presumptuously against his powerful Tang Family. In addition, at that moment, there was no way that Qin Hu would have lied about anything, as he was desperate to gain trust from them. However, if what he said was true, then there were more factors at play that he had not yet uncover.
Grandfather Tang’s reaction made Qin Hu felt that Grandfather Tang had decided to believe him. He felt hope blossoming within him. Even if he was killed, at least his son would be able to live. He continued earnestly, “I do not know where the person who had instructed me had come from. The only thing I know is that this person has eyes and ears everywhere. He knows the layout of Senior Duke’s residence and the hidden location of the treasure. Every aspect of the plan, including what time the theft should be carried out, was decided by that person. I believe that this person must surely be one of the capital’s…” Qin Hu trailed off and a look of horror crossed his eyes. His eyes widened in fear as he screamed, “Senior Duke, save me!”
Out of nowhere, a sharp sound rang out and a yellow radiance started to light up the night. A great pressure seemed to converge upon them from all sorts of direction. It appeared as if there were several small suns that had suddenly filled the skies, and the night sky was now illuminated completely by the earthly yellow light!
Earth Xuan experts!
In a flash of yellow light, like lightning, three lithe figures descended from the sky and charged towards Grandfather Tang from different directions. Each of them was masked and clad in black clothing from head to toe, only their yellow eyes visible.
The experts from the Tang Family were all taken aback by surprise, but they quickly recovered and rushed forward to stop the invaders, not sparing a thought for their own lives. Unfortunately, their lower level of strength was no match for the Earth ranked Xuan Qi experts!
Grandfather Tang laughed coldly, “Who is this daring fool!” His white beard continued to flutter about in the night as Grandfather Tang adopted a protective stance in front of Qin Hu. His entire body was glowing with an even more brilliant earthly yellow light.
Obviously, the invaders wanted to silence the witness! However, Qin Hu was currently the only person that could help Grandfather Tang retrieve the Xuan Core. How could he allow the invaders to succeed? He must stop them at all costs and protect Qin Hu no matter what!
Only Qin Hu could help him to find out who was the mastermind behind the theft, and if he were to find out who the mastermind was, then he could recover the Xuan Core! By retrieving the Xuan Core, his Tang Family would thus be able to build a foundation to preserve their whole family for the next hundred years!
Grandfather Tang’s eyes had already turned red.
Hong! Hong! Hong! Tang Wan Li charged forward by himself and blocked the three experts who had the same rank as him. He attacked viciously, just like an insane tiger!
For these three experts, killing the weak Qin Hu was not a problem. However, if they were to kill Grandfather Tang, it would be akin to declaring war with the entire Tian Xian Empire! No one would be able to bear the consequence or the responsibility of such an act! Hence, Grandfather Tang had nothing to fear! At that moment, he was able to hold back the three Earth Xuan experts!
The three invaders and Grandfather Tang began to circle one another as they attacked. As they fought, dust rose around the four of them and everyone in the yard started to get unsettled. The two Earth Xuan experts from the Tang Family immediately joined in the fight to back up the House Master. Vicious blows flew out, but those experts from the Tang Family who were ranked below the Earth Xuan could only watch; they were too weak to interfere in the fight.
“Bring Qin Hu to safety first!” commanded Grandfather Tang.
At that moment, a pale blue light shimmered and a masked man clad in white suddenly appeared. The darkness of the night caused the man that was clad in the contrasting color, white, particularly prominent. His demeanor was casual, as though he was merely taking an evening stroll, yet he was lightning quick. The blue light pulsed several times and four wretched cries were heard. The heads of four of the Hall Masters of Northern City Clan had split open, and their bodies were dropping steadily to the ground!
Beginner Sky Xuan! A Sky Xuan expert!
The 200 experts from the Tang Family swarmed around the white man, forming a human barrier in front of his target. However, the man did not even glance at them. The human barrier was completely ignored as the man continued to advance forward. His body floated three zhangs (9.12m) up in the air, away from the human barrier. A blue light flashed out, and Qin Xiao Bao who was lying on the ground wailed. He could only wail out that once as the area between his chest and abdomen was smashed to a pulp, leaving him dead!
Grandfather Tang howled out in fury. He swiveled his body around and charged towards the man in white. The man looked at the advancing Grandfather Tang in contempt, his blue eyes dazzling brightly. His palm shot out and connected with Grandfather Tang, causing Grandfather Tang to be driven back. A rush of breath escaped Grandfather Tang and his beard quivered. With a whirl, the man used his powerful Xuan Qi to repel all the experts from the Tang Residence. Immediately, he delivered a sudden backhand strike without even checking who was behind him.
It was none other than Qin Hu!
A pool of blood spewed out from Qin Hu, who began moaning and crying out, “How… ruthless! Senior Duke Tang, he is the one who…” Before he could finish his sentence, Qin Hu suddenly wailed out in pain. He had dropped dead to the ground, with not a single piece of bone in his body left intact!
“Hahaha…” laughed the man in white softly before he directed, “Let’s move!” There was a brilliant blue flash, causing everyone from the Tang Residence to stagger backward. The three Earth Xuan experts that had invaded began to head towards the wall. As the men leaped over the wall, a yellow light shone out and they were gone.
However, the man in white remained standing by the wall, his white robes billowing gracefully in the wind. He cupped his hands together and announced in a civilized tone, “Senior Duke Tang, I had no choice but to go against you today. You are a very noble man, and I hope you will forgive me for what I did today. Till we meet again.” There was another flash of blue as the man rose to the sky and disappeared. The night sky became dark once again.
Grandfather Tang clutched his chest and coughed several times. He could tell that the man had immense strength but had been going easy on him. If the man had used his full strength when he struck Grandfather Tang just now, Grandfather Tang would be seriously injured internally. Even as he realized this, Grandfather Tang was still trembling uncontrollably with pure rage!
Looking at the horrific corpses of Northern City Clan Leader Qin Hu and his son, and the four Hall Masters who had their heads split open, Grandfather Tang felt his hands and feet turned to ice.
My family should also have a Sky Xuan expert like this!
This is so unfair! I cannot accept it!
It had been hard for them to discover this major clue. Yet, at the vital moment of success, someone had suddenly come forward and wiped out this clue. Grandfather Tang had assembled the strongest 200 men from the Tang Family, but they could only stand and watch as their witness was killed! Even Grandfather Tang was subjected to a humiliating act of mercy by the enemy!
This was truly too unbearable!
As they watched Grandfather Tang try to get his breath back, the men from the Tang Family all lowered their heads in shame.
Out of the blue, a deep, imposing, mournful pounding sound reverberated throughout the night sky! It was coming from somewhere far away. It was like the rising waves of a sea storm, the muffled sound of thunder from the edge of the world. With each beat, the sound reverberated even louder, bringing with it an ominous feeling of storms and world ending!
As the pounding rang out, foreboding sense of grievance and bloodshed seemed to fly over the world. The darkness of the night was no exception; it appeared darker and heavier!
Even as time passes, the thundering did not slow down. Instead, it only became louder and louder until it resonated from all directions within Tian Xiang Empire. At the start, it was a slow deep pounding, but it had grown in intensity so much that it was now an incessant rumbling, drowning the whole world with its loud clamor!
This was the deafening sound that was coming from the drums of war! A prelude to the scene of carnage and bloodbath!
This is an Earth splitting, Heaven moving sound! It was the spark that would ignite the fire of war!
Generals Summoning Drum!
After decades of silence, and on this very night, the highest form of command from the most powerful military family in Tian Xiang Empire had suddenly begun to rumble again!
The Generals Summoning Drum only meant that war was coming. There would be mountains of corpses and a sea of blood! Thousands of cavalry and soldier would rampage the world and countless of lives would be lost! Only a small number of soldiers would remain to claim a position of power!
Within the whole of Tian Xiang, every single soldier woke up from their sleep with a start, and they quickly got dressed. The bloodlust of the soldiers burnt like an undying flame!
The Generals Summoning Drum belongs to Grand Marshall Jun!” shouted one of the Earth Xuan experts from the Tang Family, causing everyone to become stunned. Grandfather Tang Wan Li was frozen in shock, his eyes were bulging in surprise and his mouth was slack. Amidst the unexpected and sudden sound from the drums of war, he had momentarily forgotten about the humiliation and unhappiness he had felt just seconds ago. He had only one thought:
Jun Zhan Tian has gone mad! This old bastard! What is wrong with him? Why is he going mad right when his Jun Family is at its weakest?!
“Everyone, return to the Tang Residence now! Those who serve in the military are to return and change to your uniform as fast as possible before reporting! As for the rest, you are not allowed to even step out of the residence without my permission!” commanded Grandfather Tang in a swift and decisive manner as he rolled out his orders in succession.
Instantaneously, dozens of the expert saluted Grandfather Tang ceremoniously before they turned and hurried away hastily. They were moving at a speed that had exceeded the fastest speed that they could muster.
As soon as the Generals Summoning Drum had sounded, it signified that the situation had reached an extremely critical point. There was no doubt that any officer that reported late would have his head chopped off! Everybody in the military knew how strict Jun Zhan Tian was. A finger was all it took for him to deal with you!
Regardless of their status, whether they are royalty, generals, children from powerful families, child of a phoenix, or even the grandchild of a dragon, anyone who dared to violate his command would be killed without any mercy!
The thundering sound of horses’ hooves could be heard consistently, coming from all directions. Like the waters of a raging river, all of them surged towards the military field in the city center. On My Way The soldiers’ armor was polished and their faces were eager as they urged their warhorses forward!
“Duke, what do we do with them?” questioned one of the experts from the Tang Family, as he gestured towards the remaining members of the Northern City Clan.
“Bring all of them home, and interrogate them!” Grandfather Tang knew that the interrogation would not give them any results at all, but he could not help but hope.
As the warhorses galloped forth, military forces within and outside the city gathered in the barracks urgently. The military trumpets were blaring loudly and every soldier was fully alert and ready. They were prepared to receive their orders once their superiors returned. Once their orders were received, they would all move out!
Grandfather Jun was going mad!
These words were nothing but the truth.
The assassination attempt had already occurred for half an hour before Princess Ling Meng sent someone to the Jun Residence. At that moment, Grandfather Jun was happily reading in his study and he was feeling satisfied. Not only had his grandson turned over a new leaf, but also the level of strength and perseverance that he was showing far exceeds that of the Young Masters of the noble families in Tian Xiang Empire. Nobody could beat his grandson!
His grandson was a beacon of hope as the Jun Family was slowly dying around him, so how could Grandfather Jun not feel elated?
Right at that blissful moment, Housekeeper Old Pang gently knocked on his door. Solemnly, he entered the room and informed Grandfather Jun that Princess Ling Meng had sent someone to report something to the House Master.
Grandfather Jun Zhan Tian called the man in immediately. As soon as he laid eyes on the man, he noticed the blood on him. Grandfather Jun’s heart skipped a beat. The man was speaking hesitantly and was looking everywhere except at Grandfather Jun. Grandfather Jun began to feel an ominous sense of trepidation and his face turned sour. Old Pang was standing next to the man with a strange expression on him, causing Jun Zhan Tian to feel that something was very wrong…
After pressuring and questioning the man, the man finally sputtered out, “The Third Young Master Jun’s corpse had disappeared…”
The sentence was short and simple, but for Jun Zhan Tian, it was like the clapping of ten thousand thunders from the Nine Heavens roaring out in unison! Jun Zhan Tian trembled uncontrollably, his face as white as sheet. The atmosphere around him was suffocating!
Old Pang was shocked, but thankfully he had expected it. He immediately slapped and pinched Grandfather Jun’s chest, allowing Grandfather Jun to compose himself. The bodyguard shuddered in fear as he knelt on the floor, still as a statue. It was common knowledge that the debauchee, Jun Mo Xie, was extremely treasured by Grandfather Jun. Any harm that befell him would end up bringing about a horrifying catastrophe!
As Grandfather Jun composed himself, he coughed out some blood and his face turned ashen gray. His eyes were hazy and out of focus, yet his power of speech remained. His voice was sturdy as he asked in a deep voice, “What happened, exactly? Bring me through everything slowly and do not miss out anything.” His voice was low and heavy, like a huge mountain pressing down with immense force.
Suddenly, Lin Ruoxi turned back with red eyes, and stubbornly said to Yang Chen, “He’s not my grandfather, I don’t know him. Yang Chen quickly chase him away! I don’t want to see him!”
This time, Yang Chen was stupefied. What the hell is going on?
Lin Zhiguo creased his eyebrows, and there was some sorrow in his eyes, he spoke in a grieved manner, “Ruoxi, do you hate your grandpa so much? To the point where you wouldn’t even let grandpa visit you……”
“I’ll say this once more, you’re not my grandfather. Also, you’ve already seen me. You may leave now.” Lin Ruoxi coldly said giving Lin Zhiguo nary a glance.
At this time, Gray Robe who stood at a corner tried to pacify her, “Miss, these years have been hard on Master, he has always been concerned about you. When he heard that Miss had been hospitalized, and kept worrying about you. Everybody in the family was against Master coming to visit you, but Master still came despite the pressure from them. Miss, please don’t blame Master…… Master has his own difficulties……”
Lin Ruoxi sneered and said, “How could I dare blame the Lin Family head who holds great authority? Would you people please stop caring about an insignificant brat like me? I do not need your pity.”
Lin Zhiguo’s expression changed greatly, he exhaled long and slowly, then nodded and said, “Alright Ruoxi, since you don’t want grandpa to remain here, grandpa will leave. However……” As he said that, Lin Zhiguo turned to look at Yang Chen who stood at a side who had a vacant expression of not knowing what to do. Zero of The Black Crusade Lin Zhiguo said, “However, you’re a person of our Lin Family, the most pure and noble Lin Family blood flows through your veins, I definitely wouldn’t allow you to marry someone who originally sold mutton skewers for a living because of a moment of negligence!”
Yang Chen was pissed. What the hell is this old man saying? What’s wrong with selling mutton skewers? It’s not like I’m selling myself as a male prostitute…… I sell mutton skewers and I’m proud of it!
Besides, I personally went to the Civil Administration Bureau to get a marriage certificate, and even did the lovely thing of sharing a bed and a pillow…. Ehh…. although it was because we were both drunk and practically forgot it all, we’re still a legally married couple aren’t we? How can this be called a negligent marriage? It’s not like this is some random marriage by bowing to the moon like in Wuxia films or one where they had a baby before getting married.
But Yang Chen didn’t dare to say these words, they were grandfather and granddaughter after all. He was an outsider and a junior, so he could only with bear it.
“Based on what? I’ll marry who I want to marry! I’m not a part of the Lin Family, I am who I am, I’m Lin Ruoxi. Other than this damned surname that I can’t change, I don’t have a single bit of relation to your Lin Family!” Lin Ruoxi became agitated, and unleashed her anger.
Lin Zhiguo’s face frosted over, “You can choose to admit, and you can choose not to, but you still have to divorce! A Lin Family’s daughter can only marry to a successful man, and not a mutton skewer peddler that has nothing! Such a joke must not appear in the Lin Family!”
“Joke?” Lin Ruoxi showed a grim smile that came from the bones, “Is the relationship between you and grandma also a joke?”
“Shut up!!….” Lin Zhiguo was angered to the core, like a lion that had his tail stepped on, he raised his hand with the intention of releasing a slap!
However, just as the palm was raised, Lin Zhiguo trembled all over, and slowly withdrew his hand with a complicated expression, he didn’t proceed to slap. He sighed and said, “It was I who let your grandmother down, that’s my biggest regret in this lifetime. Which is why I have to take good care of you, I will not let the Lin Family’s bloodline mix with someone who sells mutton skewers……”
“It’s my honor to tell you that it’s too late……” Lin Ruoxi ridiculed with a smile. It was unknown whether she was ridiculing Lin Zhiguo or ridiculing herself.
Lin Zhiguo immediately widened his eyes, and looked at Yang Chen in a way as if he could shoot lightning out of his eyes, with a trembling voice he asked, “You…… what did you say…… you and him?”
“Why do you think I married him otherwise?” Lin Ruoxi restrained her laughter as she replied him with another question.
Yang Chen who stood at the side felt a little awkward, he wore a naive smile and rubbed his nose. This woman is too much, discussing such a thing in front of her grandfather is so shameful! Doesn’t she know that her husband is thin-skinned?
But the others couldn’t smile at all, it wasn’t just Lin Zhiguo, even Gray Robe who stood at the side revealed a shocked expression and took a long time to return to his senses.
Lin Zhiguo fixed his gaze on Lin Ruoxi who refused to speak more, then raised his head to glance at Yang Chen and said, “I never thought that this would happen. However, Yang Chen I hope you won’t do anything that lets Ruoxi down…… otherwise, I won’t take things lying down.”
Yang Chen finally heard a decent sentence towards himself, but instead felt a little distressed, “About that…… that has to depend on whether she’s willing to let me.”
“The Lin Family’s iron law, whether male or female, they can only have one mate in their lifetime. You must treat Ruoxi well, you have no other option!” Lin Zhiguo resolutely proclaimed.
“Erm……” Yang Chen looked at Lin Ruoxi who maintained her silence, and suddenly understood something in a flash. The true reason this woman married him is revealed, it seems like that contracted marriage matter was just an excuse! Because of some reason she refuses to admit she’s part of the Lin Family on the surface, but in actuality she still acts like one…… the way this matter is handled is too contradictory!
Yang Chen felt incredibly conflicted in his heart, there wasn’t just one woman by his side, so he vaguely replied, “That is your family’s rule, it has no relation to me.”
Lin Zhiguo glared with flames in his eyes and said, “Don’t you dare think that I have no way of dealing with you just because you know some kung fu. If you dare do anything to harm Ruoxi, I’ll be the first to come for you!”
Lin Ruoxi on the bed coldly glanced at Yang Chen, “Yang Chen, don’t speak anymore, quickly make them leave……”
“You don’t need to chase me, I’ll leave now.”
Lin Zhiguo stared at Yang Chen with a profound look, then left the ward along with Gray Robe. The two men who were knocked down on the floor hastily kept up with them while staggering, they didn’t want to stay for a moment longer.
All that was left in the room was the couple, they exchanged glances, but the atmosphere between them became rather weird…… Chapter 101: Someone’s spouse
After leaving the hospital, Lin Zhiguo and his subordinates returned to a lengthened military Hummer parked in the darkness. The car was like a steel fort after it had been through special modifications, even the four tires had gone through bullet-proof treatment.
Once they got into the car, the driver who had been keeping watch of the car quietly started the car. The large car stealthily got out of the hospital’s car park without creating any loud engine noise, and drove towards the highway.
The bright moonlight was scattered inside the car, sitting on the real leather seat in the middle was Lin Zhiguo. He absentmindedly thought over some personal matters, his face which had a number of wrinkles seemed more weary than usual.
Gray Robe who sat across from him saw this made a soft sigh, and began to console him, “Master, don’t be too hurt, Miss is just being stubborn. Miss is pure and kind-hearted, she may treat everybody coldly on the surface, but the fact is that she is more emotional than anyone. Actually, in Miss’ heart she thinks of Master as family.”
“I know that……” Lin Zhiguo also sighed then said, “If Ruoxi doesn’t think of me as family, then she wouldn’t be so angry towards me. She more so wouldn’t have followed our Lin Family’s precepts and take the initiative to get married to Yang Chen.”
“Then why do you still seem so sad, Master?” Gray Robe asked in bewilderment.
Lin Zhiguo forced a smile and said, “Maybe I’m really old, even though I know Ruoxi was just throwing her temper at me, I still wish she would call me grandpa and be willing to spend more time with me. I accidentally married a “CEO I let her grandmother down, and also let her mother down. I want to make it up for her, but she never gives me a chance……”
“Then…… what about Young Master Kun? He’s already gone mad……” Gray Robe softly said.
“Hmph.” Lin Zhiguo coldly snorted, a tinge of cruelty flashed past his eyes, “I never thought of that bastard as my son ever since a long time ago! If it wasn’t because he was Ruoxi’s father, I’d have slaughtered him myself! The Lin Family never raises degenerates!”
Gray Robe no longer spoke, he was very clear that his master whom he had served for half his lifetime cherished his family very much, but towards those family members who err, he shows them no mercy!
Lin Zhiguo thought for a moment and suddenly asked, “Gray Robe, from that short exchange earlier, how strong do you judge Yang Chen to be?”
Gray Robe quivered, and spoke in a pained manner, “Unfathomable…… I’ve never met a person in this lifetime who could make me feel this helpless…… If I stake my life on it, perhaps I could hinder him for a while….. But to defeat him, I’m afraid that it can only be possible if the whole Group of Eight joined forces……”
Lin Zhiguo helplessly laughed and said, “Even if the whole Group of Eight can defeat him, it’d still be our loss, because we still can’t defeat the true him, not to mention that he still possesses other powers……”
“Master you mean……” Gray Robe had an appalled expression, “Master, could it be that that matter of sealing is true?”
Lin Zhiguo shook his head, “I don’t know, every time the 《Treaty of Gods》 is mentioned it seems so unreal, but if Yang Chen’s strength is truly as unfathomable as you said, then the existence of the 《Treaty of Gods》 may not be impossible. After all, to be able to battle the whole Group of Eight all by himself, there isn’t another that can be found in the whole of Huaxia.”
“Then…… then doesn’t that make him a monster!?” Gray Robe agitatedly said, “Before unsealing his battle power the whole Group of Eight is required to match him! If the seal truly exists, doesn’t that mean that once he unseals himself we’d need more than half of the Yellow Flame Iron Brigade to even have a chance of taking him down!?”
“It’s precisely because they’re monsters, which is why the treaty’s restriction is required.” Lin Zhiguo made a relieved smile and said, “Don’t worry, leaving aside the treaty and setting rules on the gods requiring opponents of the same level before releasing their seal, even if he truly released his seal under other circumstances, Yang Chen wouldn’t go against us. Have you forgotten who I am to him?”
Gray Robe was stunned, then was overjoyed, he couldn’t hold back his laughter and said, “Master is indeed wise! So Master had a plan coming today! Today Master asked Miss to divorce him, so Miss definitely wouldn’t listen to Master’s words, and add to that the Lin Family’s precepts further restricting the possibility of divorcing Yang Chen…… In that case… Yang Chen will remain as the Lin Family’s son-in-law!”
“Hehe…….” Lin Zhiguo laughed and said, “Some matters would become boring when revealed. Actually all I did was allow these two youngsters to stay together to the best of my abilities. Although I’ve been secretly protecting Ruoxi for the past few years, I can’t do it to the point of being impervious. Add on the fact that in recent years several people have already figured out the relationship between our Lin Family and Ruoxi, her safety has become a bigger problem. With Yang Chen by her side, it’d be like the last few crises, where Yang Chen deals with the problem perfectly without the need for us to interfere…… Moreover, just who can take down Pluto who is one of the gods?”
Gray Robe nodded in approval, and said, “But it’d be a problem if Miss and Yang Chen ever realizes Master’s intentions, when that happens, it’d be terrible no matter who gets angered……”
Lin Zhiguo spoke in a deep voice, “All of this would depend on Ruoxi and him, how far they’d go together……”
In the ward, Yang Chen and Lin Ruoxi stared at each other for ages, then Lin Ruoxi finally turned her head away because it was awkward. She continued to look outside the window, with a slight blush on her pretty face, she feigned being displeased as she said, “What the hell are you looking at? You found out my secret and watched me become a joke, do you feel very pleased with yourself?”
Yang Chen shyly smiled, “A little, but not much.”
“Hmph, rest assured, what I said earlier were just words from anger, I wouldn’t follow the Lin Family’s stupid rules! I won’t shamelessly hold on to you refusing to let go. Once the two year contract is fulfilled, you can leave or you can stay, it’s up to you!” Lin Ruoxi coldly said.
Yang Chen playfully looked at the angry woman who sat on the bed, “Leave…… or stay? Up to me? Why, I thought I had to leave, I can choose to stay now?”
Lin Ruoxi realized the fault in her words, and her expression turned even more bashful. She softly said, “What… what I mean is, it’s… it’s the same to me whether you’re here or not, I won’t be affected.”
Yang Chen didn’t say a thing, he continued to stare at Lin Ruoxi, to the point that she got slightly upset. She finally couldn’t bear that teasing look, so she fiercely turned her head back and rolled her eyes at Yang Chen, then said, “I told you to stop staring! Did you not hear me!?”
“Honey, you’re really pretty……” Yang Chen suddenly softly spoke.
Lin Ruoxi’s wildly beating heart suddenly stopped, she even forgot to breathe.
A pair of autumn water-like eyes stared straight at Yang Chen, amongst the sparkling eyes were a little panic. After some time, dimples appeared on her flushed face. Her eyelashes fluttered as she blinked, and she lowered her head in silence.
After a spell of silence, Yang Chen took the initiative to speak, “Actually, the reason I came here tonight is because I have something to thank you about.”
Lin Ruoxi remained silent with her head lowered.
“I need to thank you for sending Lawyer Zhang to get me out of the police station this morning, otherwise I might have been tormented to death by your great sister who bears the surname Cai.”
“Yeah right……” Lin Ruoxi finally raised her head, her face was still as flushed as before, “Yanyan isn’t a demoness, if you don’t do anything bad, why would she harm you for no good reason?”
“Aren’t you going to ask why I entered the police station?” Yang Chen asked in bemusement.
Lin Ruoxi shook her head, “I’m not interested to know, knowing will only make me upset.”
Gently stroking her hair, Lin Ruoxi sighed, and her usual cold look finally returned, “Yang Chen, can you promise me something?”
“What?” Yang Chen was curious, it was rare to see her speak to him with such a serious tone.
Lin Ruoxi said, “Could you be more like normal men, and put in effort into work instead of doing things that waste time and energy all day? I’m not against you playing around after work, I won’t even say a thing even if you don’t come home occasionally. I just hope that the man of the family has a stable career, without giving off the impression of being someone unstable and imaginary. If you make some achievements, I can even give you the position of CEO…… You have the capability, you’re aware of that as well. You just aren’t willing to take it seriously.”
Yang Chen was stumped, with a smile he replied, “Miss Lin Ruoxi, have you discovered that you’re becoming more like someone’s spouse?”
“What?” Lin Ruoxi creased her beautiful brows.
“You’ve learnt how to look after your family, learnt how to depend on your man, learnt tolerance, learnt to plan for your husband, learnt to be devoted, and even learnt to encourage your husband.” Yang Chen said with a smile, “You haven’t just become more like a wife, you’ve even become a virtuous wife.”
Lin Ruoxi was a little embarrassed after hearing that, she pursed her lips and asked, “Don’t mention these useless things, will you promise me this or not?”
“I decline.” Yang Chen directly rejected, “I really don’t have any great ambitions, I think I’m fine being in the PR Department right now. I don’t want to be involved in so many troublesome matters. If you really make me the of CEO the company, perhaps it’ll end up closing down in three days. Therefore…… although I’d love to please you, my dear wife, I truly don’t want to force myself to do this. I apologize.”
“You……” Being so straightforwardly rejected, Lin Ruoxi became so angry that her lips quivered, “Mud can never be turned to gold! Get lost! I don’t want to see you!!”
“Tch tch…… Turned uncute so quickly.”
Yang Chen deeply smiled, he didn’t try to argue with Lin Ruoxi, he just calmly walked out of the room and uttered, “Sleep early.”
Lin Ruoxi saw him off with a pillow she sent flying, it was a pity that it only knocked against the wooden door……
The next morning, Yang Chen’s phone rang when he just brought ladies in the office breakfast. It was right at the moment before he was going to start his computer gaming career for the day.
Curious as to who would call him this early in the morning, he took a look and was surprised. It was Little Zhao from ROSE bar, who was also one of Rose’s competent subordinates. If something happened to Rose, it should be Rose who calls me, why is Little Zhao giving me a call so suddenly?
After he picked it up, Yang Chen asked while gnawing on his soup bun, “Little Zhao, it’s so early, what’s the matter?”
Little Zhao who was on the other side of the line hesitated for a while, then said, “Big bro Yang…… Big sis…… Big sis she’s……”
“Rose? What happened to her!?” Yang Chen heard mournfulness from Little Zhao’s tone, and immediately became agitated. Could it be that something happened to Rose this morning!? Chapter 102: To me
He drove to ROSE bar hurriedly, and came to a screeching halt at its entrance, alarming all the surrounding bystanders.
Yang Chen got off the car, and immediately walked into the empty bar.
Inside the bar were people who wore different clothing, but they all sat there solemnly. When they noticed Yang Chen at the door, they all stood up and nodded to greet him.
These people were all part of Red Thorns Society and were Rose’s trusted aides. They were at the level where they knew very clearly how close the relationship between Rose and Yang Chen, but also knew that he was the hidden leader of the Red Thorns Society.
The round-faced Little Zhao guarded the passageway. After seeing Yang Chen walk over, he gloomily went up to tell him, “Big bro Yang, big sis just fell asleep, she isn’t in danger now.”
Yang Chen’s remained in a bad mood. Hearing that Rose wasn’t in danger, he remained joyless, “Little Zhao, tell me what on earth happened, how did Rose get shot?”
Little Zhao blamed himself, “It was due to our inadequate defense measures, we were too careless……”
As it turns out, just yesterday night, Red Thorns Society accepted the submission of one of West Union Society’s strongholds. As the boss, Rose naturally had to go there to receive their vow of loyalty.
But they never expected that amongst the leaders who were submitting, there was one who changed his mind at the very last minute, he drew out a pocket-sized pistol from his pocket and shot Rose in close proximity!
Although Rose herself had great agility, it wasn’t possible for her to be fearless towards bullets like Yang Chen. Despite having moved her body as soon as she saw it coming, the bullet that was aimed for her heart still hit her belly!
Then the scene turned into chaos, the people of Red Thorns Society immediately killed off that hitman. Rose endured the bullet wound and immediately left the scene. Once she reached the car, she went into a semi-conscious state from the pain and blood loss.
“To be honest, with big sis’ years of experience she was definitely able to perceive that bastard pulling out a gun……” Little Zhao painfully said with red eyes, “But big sis has been too tired these days. She sleeps no more than four hours a day, constantly holding meetings with the subordinates, forming plans, and she even needs to bring us around to take territory…… This is why she was in a bad physical shape and couldn’t react in time…… it’s all our fault for being useless. We only know how to fight and can’t help big sis at all. We made her work hard in every aspect……”
Yang Chen took a deep breath, then patted on Little Zhao’s shoulder. He didn’t say a thing, then walked directly towards Rose’s room.
Having just seated, Chen Rong couldn’t help but turn to look at Sun Yan. She smiled with warmth and gratitude. Embarrassed, Sun Yan scratched his neck and dashed into his carriage.
The two went their own way.
It had been less than a hundred paces before Nurse Ping and Old Shang ran up to her. They ran and called to her from the distance: “Miss, miss.”
Chen Rong looked up to see them crying. “What is it?” she asked, slightly amused.
“Our congratulations, miss,” Old Shang said in a trembling voice. He bowed toward the imperial palace and thanked, “Long live His Majesty.”
Nurse Ping and the others were quick to follow suit.
Chen Rong glanced to see watchful eyes all around them. “Alright alright, let’s talk once we’re inside.”
When she saw Old Shang drive the carriage over, Chen Rong quietly said to him, “Find a chance to take all of our money out.”
Old Shang understood that there were now many things his mistress needed to spend money on. He nodded.
“Miss,” Nurse Ping called from behind at this time.
Chen Rong turned around.
Nurse Ping neared and whispered to her, “Miss, the master and young master came over.” While Chen Rong quizzically looked at her, the older woman added, “Master has left that vile woman.”
Chen Rong smiled to hear this.
“I’m afraid she won’t give up so easily, so I arranged for him to live in the temple.”
Chen Rong carelessly replied, “Why should we be afraid of some thugs?” She was never the unkind one. It was fine if that woman stay put, but if she dared to stir the pot, she shall see how many lives she had.
“Aye, my young lady isn’t one to be afraid of her.”
Nurse Ping looked at Chen Rong in comfort, thinking to herself: My mistress is highly regarded by His Majesty. Not only did he give her farmland and a hamlet, he even allowed her to have young men… Doesn’t this mean that she can have descendants to inherit these wealth?
The young lady having her own descendants is a good thing in the mind of servants like Nurse Ping. To them, husbands were far less reliable than one’s children. As long as her mistress had a filial son in her old age, what did it matter whether she was married or not?
Nurse Ping was pleased that the young lady had kept to her insistence. If she had gotten married and even as Wang Qi’s honored concubine, she wouldn’t have had today’s glory.
Seeing that her servants were all smiles, Chen Rong couldn’t help from tugging the corners of her lips.
Yet she couldn’t be in the same high spirits, for close to the emperor was a precarious place to be. Her position was far less secure than her servants thought it to be.
Chen Rong took her servants home, introduced them to the guards, and then delegated tasks to them. Afterward, she took ten guards with her to the spring.
After the delay, the sun had set behind the mountain and night fog had begun to shroud the land.
The world could be plagued by chaos but Jiankang would always be in peace. A stormy weather was clearly brewing yet amusement had become a habit here. The festivity especially came alive at night.
The streets were awash with light. Candles floated in the water by the wooden bridge and sky lanterns dotted the sky.
Carriages and pedestrians flitted to and fro on the street.
As Chen Rong listened to the surrounding and met a gaze from time to time, she suddenly realized that she hadn’t experienced this peace in a very long time.
The carriage left the hamlet’s drive and entered another street.
The main street was much more festive compared to the smaller alleys. Afar, bright red lanterns and beautiful girls formed a dazzling sight.
While Chen Rong raised her head to admire the scenery, two shadows suddenly jumped in front of her carriage.
Two halberds at once pointed at them.
“Don’t, don’t, I’m Ah Rong’s uncle,” a familiar voice sounded. “Ah Rong, it’s me. Ha ha, it’s so hard to see you these days.”
It was Chen Yuan’s voice.
As Chen Rong took a closer look, Chen Yuan shrank back and hid the patch on his right sleeve when he saw her looking at him.
Chen Rong nodded to the two guards, so that after they withdrew their halberds, she knitted her brow at Chen Yuan and Chen Sanlang. “Sir Chen, have you come with instructions for me?”
She did not call Chen Yuan ‘uncle’.
Chen Yuan’s face twitched to hear this. He secretly ground his teeth but the smile on his face grew ever more flattering. In reality, Chen Rong was still a nun who did not belong to the secular world and who was no longer surnamed Chen. He couldn’t admonish her for not calling him uncle.
Chen Yuan strode to Chen Rong’s carriage with a forced smile on his face. When he was almost near her, Chen Rong narrowed her eyes at which time two guards shouted: “Get up.”
Chen Rong’s face displayed neither joy nor anger to see Chen Yuan almost keeling over. But Chen Yuan’s face momentarily turned purple, for humiliation surged at him like a tide. A niece whose life had once been in his hands, who never dared to make a breathing sound – that extremely lowly and powerless girl was now looking down at him from above and almost humiliated him.
Chen Rong quietly enjoyed Chen Yuan’s hatred and shame. She unhurriedly lifted her chin and haughtily said, “If you have nothing to say, then pardon me for not staying.”
“Wait, wait,” Chen Yuan called. This time, before he could say more, Chen Sanlang quietly said, “Father, it’s no use.”
He bowed his head and pulled Chen Yuan’s sleeve, “It’s no use, it’s absolutely no use, so why humiliate ourselves?”
Chen Rong’s carriage was already driving away while Chen Yuan was still staring after it. His face turned livid looking at the flying dust. He gritted his teeth and made a growl from deep inside his throat.
After a while, he said with a gnashing voice, “Do you think I want to bow to that wench? But Sanlang, we can only beg her now.”
“Prince Yinglin’s cruelty is infamous. He won’t spare you this time. The Chen House doesn’t let us in their door; they won’t even let us see Ah Wei. Besides begging this whore who else can we ask for help? Who else can we ask for help, Sanlang?”
Chen Sanlang bowed his head at his father’s hoarse questioning.
Chen Yuan’s voice gradually calmed as he stared after Chen Rong’s departure. “The whore hides in her temple all day, and the entire place is guarded by the Wang House of Lang’ya. We couldn’t see her after countless visits. It wasn’t easy to have met her here…”
Before he could finish, Chen Sanlang conceded in shame: “Father, it’s my fault.”
Chen Yuan patted his head. “No, I just couldn’t help my disgust upon seeing her and lost my balance. Don’t blame yourself.”
“Let’s come back tomorrow morning. She’s a woman after all, a flattering sentence or two will do it.”
Chen Sanlang nodded, and father and son turned to leave.
This translation belongs to hamster428.
As the carriage slowly moved, Chen Rong’s voice sounded: “Make my orders known: if anyone sees those two again he is to chase them away. I don’t want to have to see them.”
“Aye,” the ten guards replied.
Their voices were orderly and powerful, crisp and spirited. Even though Chen Rong had been mistress of her home in her last life, she couldn’t help but feel commanding and exalted to hear them here and now.
She leaned back and quietly looked at the fireworks on the side of the street, letting her heart slowly calm down.
At this very moment, a deep and powerful drum sounded ahead.
It sounded gloomy and as if it was coming from the sky.
Chen Rong looked up.
One point, two points, …five, six points of bright red lights illuminated the pitch black sky.
While she looked at the lights in surprise, almost suddenly, all the lanterns in front of her were simultaneously lit. Forthwith, a building of lanterns appeared before her eyes.
Like a fairy crane riding the cloud, a long legged and impeccably handsome man appeared to the crowd from the loft.
He was the drummer. His lean and strong muscles moved rhythmically under his wide sleeves to the swelling of the drum.
Despite being used to seeing men like Wang Hong and Sun Yan, Chen Rong couldn’t help herself from staring in a trance. Hearing the screaming and cheering around them, she curiously asked, “Who is he?”
A guard reverently looked at the man and answered her, “He is from the Xie House of Chen County, the famously debonair Xie Heting.”
“Is that him?”
Chen Rong had heard of his name. She nodded and then withdrew her gaze.
Her carriage slowly drove on in the midst of screaming and drumming.
A bustling world existed in front of her and behind her. Chen Rong gazed up at the sky, whispering: “No wonder so many people yearn for Jiankang.”
The baby-faced guard to her left grinned and replied, “Aye, Jiankang accounts for eight of the world’s ten charms.”
“Miss,” he smilingly said to Chen Rong, “your status is no longer the same. With good luck you may be able to meet more famous and beautiful people.”
These words of his…? Chen Rong side-eyed him with a smile, though she did not speak.
She didn’t rush them thus they took their time and went slowly. By the time they reached Xiufeng Spring, it was already dark and the moon had risen to the top of the willow tree.
“Miss, we’re here.” They didn’t know how to address Chen Rong so they called her ‘miss’ the way Old Shang and Nurse Ping called her.
Have they arrived?
“I’m going down to take a stroll.”
Chen Rong jumped down and slowly walked ahead.
She stopped past a row of trees.
The five pavilions in the spring were vacant.
However, a bean-sized light beamed from the right side of the lake.
A similarly faint shadow quietly stood in this faint light.
The wind lifted his sleeves and blew on the rising and falling fireflies around him.
The moonlight spilled from the sky, rendering the reflection of his robe dreamlike in the water.
He did come, and had been here for a long time…
“It’s fine, leave me,” Chen Rong stopped and said to her guards.
When she got to the water’s edge, a small boat was bobbing beneath her feet. She jumped down and took the bamboo pole to row to him.
She soon came to his side.
Now seeing him up close, Chen Rong saw for the first time a muted desolation on his always smiling face.
It was very faint and very light, but it somehow made her heart throb.
She quickly turned her head and re-armed herself.
In the evening breeze, he gazed at the moonlit waves and softly remarked, “You’re late.”
As Chen Rong was about to counter that they hadn’t actually agreed on a time, his smooth voice floated to her: “This is the first time.”
He slowly turned his head, his eyes gleaming in the darkness.
Chen Rong again saw sadness from his eyes.
“Blood Stripe Pythons are true Ancientbeasts, while Frost Pythons are usually considered spirit beasts.
“However, the mother of my Frost Blood Python is a seventh grade Frost Python with developed intelligence. Only because of that, a male Blood Stripe Python fell for it, and the two of them made this Frost Blood Python.”
At that moment, the exclamations of many other Qi warriors who also practiced fire incantations echoed out.
“That’s an Ancientbeast!”
“That’s a vermilion bird in its infancy!”
Originally, they had itched to leave their own Fortune Wells to seize that flame-spewing one for their own. However, the vermilion bird had manipulated the flame power within that Heaven Flame Beast eye to devour its owner. After witnessing the violent death of a fellow cultivator with a similar cultivation base as theirs, they all had their enthusiasm dampened, as if someone had poured cold water on them.
Then, after seeing the sixth grade Earth Flame Beast cowering back to its own Fortune Well, they all gave up on the idea of seizing that Fortune Well too.
There might be other Fortune Wells that would spew flame power. It was unnecessary to risk their lives fighting that vermilion bird.
The old man who had been forced away earlier congratulated himself inwardly as he watched the dancing vermilion bird in the pillar of crimson flames, and the burly man’s charred corpse under it.
He felt that he had made a wise decision by handing that well over. Otherwise, he would have been the one burned to the death by the vermilion bird.
The pillar of crimson flames gradually shrank as the vermilion bird absorbed its Heavenflame Essence.
As people withdrew their gazes from the vermilion bird, many other Fortune Wells worked their wonders.
Nie Tian’s Fortune Well was one of them. A thick, watery mist filled with sparkling and crystal-clear drops of water rose unceasingly from the well.
Each and every drop seemed to contain the essence of water power.
Chai Fengwu, who was valiant and heroic in bearing, instantly sensed the change, and her eyes lit up.
She practiced water incantations. The essence of water power Nie Tian’s Fortune Well was spewing suited her cultivation needs perfectly. With its help, she would be able to make rapid advancement in her cultivation.
Therefore, she looked at Nie Tian with eager eyes.
Next Chapter With wide eyes, Nie Tian looked at his Fortune Well, but said with a frustrated sigh, “Talk about bad luck.”
Unlike most cultivators, he practiced not only spiritual power, but also flame power, wood power and star power.
However, his Fortune Well happened to spew none of the three, but water power instead.
According to Chai Longge, the Fortune Wells spewed all kinds of power, even including pure flesh power.
Even if his Fortune Well had spewed pure flesh power, he would be able to channel it with his special bloodline talent to refine his body.
However, water power was of absolutely no use to him.
He shifted his gaze from his Fortune Well to Yin Yanan’s and the others’, and discovered that none of their Fortune Wells had worked their wonders yet.
He understood that the Fortune Wells didn’t necessarily work wonders at the same time. Some took longer, while others took shorter.
Not to mention that some might even stay dormant till the entire season was over.
“Hey, little brother!” A distant, overjoyed voice caught Nie Tian’s ears.
He looked over, and it turned out to be a good-looking man in purple garments, who was at the middle Profound realm and wreathed in an aura that was as smooth as water.
With a warm smile, he said, “My name is Xie Yunhai. Your Fortune Well agrees with my cultivation attribute perfectly. And my Fortune Well is spewing wood power. How about we swap?”
Nie Tian looked over with rapt attention, and discovered that the Fortune Well he was standing by was indeed spewing wisps of green aura, which seemed to contain pure wood power.
As soon as he uttered these words, a disappointed look rapidly spread out across Chai Fengwu’s face, even though Nie Tian hadn’t given a reply yet.
She sighed inwardly while shaking her head, knowing that she probably wouldn’t be able to get that Fortune Well from Nie Tian.
After all, Xie Yunhai’s well happened to be the kind Nie Tian needed. A swap would benefit them both.
With an unrestrained smile, Nie Tian nodded. “Okay, why not?”
He then blurred into action. In the next moment, he landed on the Bone Blood Demon’s shoulder and commanded it to fly towards Xie Yunhai.
Watching the enormous Bone Blood Demon coming towards him, Xie Yunhai had great apprehension in his eyes. Before it came close, he left his Fortune Well to make room for it to land.
As a Profound realm cultivator, he already possessed the ability to fly without external help. Therefore, without summoning an air-transportation spiritual tool, he made a brief detour in the air to avoid the Bone Blood Demon, and then landed by Nie Tian’s Fortune Well.
After assuming a firm foothold, he clasped his hands towards Nie Tian and said, “Many thanks!”
Nie Tian nodded back at him.
After turning his eyes from Nie Tian, Xie Yunhai took a deep breath as his face rapidly grew cold.
His gaze went back and forth between Chai Longge and his sister before saying with a stern, threatening tone, “I’m from the Water Moon Sect in the Domain of Vast Darkness. You’d better think it through if you want to take this Fortune Well by force.”
He was well-aware that, just like him, Chai Fengwu also practiced water power. The Fortune Well he had obtained from Nie Tian through their swap also suited Chai Fengwu’s needs.
While Chai Fengwu’s cultivation base was the same as his, Chai Longge’s cultivation base was higher than his.
If the brother-sister pair teamed up on him, he would most likely find himself in a difficult situation.
“The Water Moon Sect from the Domain of Vast Darkness, and his family name is Xie…” Chai Longge’s expression suddenly flickered, as if he had remembered something.
Immediately afterwards, he signaled Chai Fengwu to stay back with his gaze, and then said, “Well, since my little sister isn’t fated to have it, we don’t intend to take it by force.”
“That’d be for the best,” Xie Yunhai said with a plain tone, but the vigilant look in his eyes didn’t fade.
While keeping an eye on Chai Longge and Chai Fengwu, he took out numerous water-attributed spiritual materials from within his ring of holding, and started placing them around the Fortune Well in a special formation.
Soon, a glistening hemispherical ward enveloped him and the Fortune Well.
Only then did a hint of relief appear on his face as he walked to the mouth of the Fortune Well and started channeling water power essence from it.
“Dammit!” Mu Biqiong cursed inwardly after seeing Nie Tian start building a Wood Thriving Formation with tree branches after landing by his new Fortune Well on the Bone Blood Demon.
She also practiced wood power, so that well suited her needs too.
If she could have the demonic flowers inside of her channel wood power essence from it, she would have a great chance at breaking through from the late Worldly realm into the Profound realm.
However, since Xie Yunhai was originally rather far from her, by the time she had discovered that his Fortune Well was spewing wood power essence, he had already proposed to swap Fortune Wells with Nie Tian.
If she had discovered it earlier, she would have flown over without the slightest hesitation, killing Xie Yunhai and taking his Fortune Well.
She had never been known as a kind person. Her vicious and relentless nature was known throughout the entire Domain of Heaven’s Boundaries.
She wouldn’t have any mental burden about taking other people’s Fortune Wells by force.
However, she turned out to be one step too late. Watching Nie Tian agree to Xie Yunhai’s proposal, she had felt frustrated, knowing that she had missed a great opportunity.
After all, she didn’t want or dare to take that Fortune Well from Nie Tian.
Even though she had a demonic plant at her command, and Nie Tian’s Bone Blood Demon had lost its previous battle prowess, she was still rather apprehensive about him deep down.
“You might as well try you know, if you really want it,” Yin Yanan said with an ill-intentioned smile. “Nie Tian’s puppet is not as powerful as before, and that plant of yours hasn’t suffered a single defeat. Perhaps you’ll actually win.”
With an icy look in her eyes, Mu Biqiong let out a cold snort, ignoring her intent to stir up trouble.
Nie Tian finished planting seventy-two tree branches into the ground around the Fortune Well. After a green hemispherical ward with mysterious patterns from trees of life formed over him and the Fortune Well, he finally put his heart at ease.
WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH!
Wisps of wood power gave off emerald sparkling light as they rose from the mouth of the Fortune Well.
Under the Wood Thriving Formation’s profound influence, the wood power grew increasingly pure and concentrated. As soon as Nie Tian attempted to channel it with Heavenly Wood Heal, the wisps of pure, concentrated wood power instantly flew into him like numerous wisps of emerald light.
In fact, Nie Tian had already refined his vortex of wood power to the point where it was ready for his breakthrough into the late Worldly realm, and liquidized wood power was already brimming in it.
He no longer needed extra wood power to help him make a breakthrough.
The wood power he channeled into himself was used to finish the third stage of Heavenly Wood Heal: Meridian Toughening.
Therefore, he secretly activated his bloodline talent Life Drain and channeled flesh power from the heaps of spirit beast meat within his ring of holding. Then, he followed the Heavenly Wood Heal’s procedures by striking his heart repeatedly with it.
As ruptures appeared in the fine meridians around his heart, wood power poured into those meridians like trickling streams, carrying vigorous life force that could nourish all things.
After receiving the wood power essence from that Fortune Well, those meridians that were as fine as hairs healed at a speed that shocked even Nie Tian himself.
He then discovered that not only was the wood power essence he obtained from this Fortune Well unprecedentedly pure and rich, but it also contained some mysterious power that could help him heal himself.
He had made a few attempts to finish the last step of Meridian Toughening before, but they had all failed.
But this time, he found the process of regenerating tissues to reforge the meridians in his heart to be surprisingly smooth.
Just like this, he was soon consumed with the process of breaking and rebuilding his meridians.
It didn’t take very long before he finally finished with Meridian Toughening.
Even after that, wood power that was rich and pure continued pouring into him, further stimulating his flesh and the vortex of wood power within his spiritual sea.
All of a sudden, the obstacles that had been keeping him from entering the late Worldly realm seemed to shatter on their own.
Immediately afterwards, great changes took place in his spiritual sea in his dantian region. His spiritual core blossomed with misty light as his three vortexes of different powers spun madly, as if his entire spiritual sea was roaring and transforming.
“Finally!” As a thought entered his mind, numerous spirit jades and other spiritual materials flew out of his ring of holding and piled up in front of him.
Without concerning himself with the environment he was in, he instantly set about breaking through into the late Worldly realm, confident that the Wood Thriving Formation would protect him from any external danger.
Yin Yanan’s mouth was half open as she exclaimed inwardly with a astonished expression, “No way! He’s started his breakthrough process already?!”
Many others also noticed this anomaly. By the time they saw Nie Tian taking out all kinds of spiritual materials and channeling power from them, they realized that he had broken through the obstacles in his cultivation and was attempting to finish his breakthrough without delay.
The look in Yin Yanan’s eyes rapidly grew cold as she glanced around, and saw that a handful of cultivators were already converging on him. “It’s such a rash and reckless decision to finish his breakthrough under such circumstances.”
All of those who came seemed to practice wood power.
There was even a sixth grade Floragrim among them.
The Floragrim had shriveled skin that looked like the skin of an old tree. However, mysterious patterns could be vaguely seen under his skin.
He floated in the air and examined the green ward generated by the Wood Thriving Formation with a grim expression. He didn’t pay much attention to Nie Tian, as if those translucent and sparkling tree branches and the unfathomable patterns within that green ward were much more interesting.
Mu Biqiong’s eyebrows furrowed as killing intent rapidly built up within her eyes. Then, with an icy voice, she said, “Please go back to your Fortune Wells!”
Yin Yanan’s eyes were also filled with warning as she laid them on the Floragrim.
The human cultivators’ expressions flickered after hearing Mu Biqiong’s warning. They exchanged a glance, and then left reluctantly.
Only the Floragrim remained in place, and still fixed his fiery gaze on the tree branches and the mysterious patterns in the green ward, as if he were completely unconcerned.
Next Chapter An impatient look appeared in Mu Biqiong’s eyes as she asked, “Do you not speak our language?”
A dangerous aura gradually wreathed her as the killing intent in her eyes grew stronger and stronger.
At this moment, the Floragrim seemed to finally notice her. He tore his gaze from the tree branches to look at her with a calm expression. Then, in fluent human language, he answered, “I speak it.”
The spatial cage collapse instantly. Yi Yun’s strike came with the potency which shattered the void as it slapped Kun Xu directly in the face!
With a loud bang, Kun Xu flew backward like a meteor. His muscles that were like divine metal and his Yuan Qi protection were reduced to a mess as potent forces surged through him. He spewed out mouthfuls of blood as he slammed into the array formation barrier surrounding the White Jade Phoenix Palace.
The barrier cracked at the spot where Kun Xu made the impact.
Kun Xu’s mouth was like a blood fountain as his body slid down the barrier like a piece of paper.
Upon seeing this scene, everyone unknowingly turned agape as the entire square fell silent!
The high and mighty White Lunar Divine Empire Imperial Preceptor had been sent flying by Yi Yun with a slap like he was a flying pig!
Villainous Sect Master and the Endless Wave of Heroes This… This was Yi Yun’s strength?
“I am taking my wife away today. Whoever stops me shall be killed!”
Yi Yun hugged Lin Xintong with one arm as he stood up straight. His eyes were like two bolts of lightning, penetrating whatever it swept past!
His killing intent was like a burning inferno that consumed everything.
At that instant, everyone had the illusion that the person standing before them was not Yi Yun, but a peerless Godly Monarch! Chapter 1547: Skyjade Constellation

Yi Yun’s voice resounded across the White Jade Phoenix Palace. And in stark contrast was a silence akin to a cemetery’s from the various overlords and elites from the various Sinkhole factions on the coronation grounds.
Whoever stops me shall be killed!
This simple sentence was often shouted by people in a warrior’s world, but never had there been once in history where such a sentence was filled with a terrifying suppressive might like Yi Yun’s. It was as though a primordial behemoth from hundreds of millions of years ago had growled after being roused from its deep sleep!
And even more unbelievable was the fact that Yi Yun had only cultivated for mere centuries.
Ignoring the Sinkhole, even in the long rivers of martial history, never had there been such a bizarre turn of events-a junior had sent a major faction’s overlord flying with a single slap!
“This Yi Yun… is my age? No… he’s even younger than me!” Mu Yun turned disenchanted. He was an elite among the Sinkhole’s younger generation. Although he was far inferior to Lin Xintong and slightly inferior to Fairy Yourou, he still had hopes of becoming an overlord figure in the future.
He thought highly of himself and had born a grudge that Sacred Horizon Divine Lord had not offered him a Godly Monarch Royal Seal, but now, he realized he was nothing but crap when compared to Yi Yun.
He took a glance at Zhu Ningxie whose lips were twitching. His face was extremely pale and it was obvious that he had suffered a tremendous setback. Previously, he was indeed envious that Yi Yun had casually gifted the Godly Monarch Royal Seals, but opportunities were exterior to one’s body after all. In a warrior’s world, one valued one’s strength the most. They felt that they still held advantages over Yi Yun since they had left their names on the Ancient Ruins world’s World Monolith a century ago.
But now, they realized that Yi Yun’s strength had reached a realm incomprehensible to them. And the mere achievement of leaving their names on the World Monolith became a joke in front of Yi Yun.
“Young Master Yi, how did you…”
Fairy Yourou looked at Yi Yun in a daze. She knew that Yi Yun’s strength was extraordinary, but she never imagined him to be this strong.
“Today, anyone who stops me will be my enemy. Do not blame me for being heartless!”
Yi Yun’s voice was stern. The abnormal soul energy within Lin Xintong’s soul sea was causing him to burn with fury.
At that moment, Imperial Preceptor Kun Xu, who had been sent flying by Yi Yun, struggled to get up as he wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth. He was enraged from the embarrassment of being sent flying by a junior. It was the greatest insult in his entire life!
“Ka Ka Ka!”
Kun Xu’s lifeblood stirred as his eyes turned bloodshot. He stared at Yi Yun like a feral animal.
“Kun Xu, stand down!”
At that moment, a voice with bold overtones sounded. It was none other than Divine General Skyjade.
“Lord Skyjade, it was just carelessness on my part…” Kun Xu was exasperated. “I underestimated the punk’s strength and thought it would be an easy capture. Furthermore, I was worried about injuring Her Majesty, so I held back. But this little bastard thought nothing of it. He immediately dealt a lethal blow, allowing him to gain the upper hand. Lord Skyjade, let me continue. I will definitely not be defeated again.”
Kun Xu felt that his defeat was way too humiliating. Even if Yi Yun’s strength was terrifying and that he was unlikely to defeat Yi Yun, he wanted to show that he would not be inflicted with such terrible injuries at the very least. By attacking again, he felt that he could redeem the situation a little.
However, Divine General Skyjade denied him with a single sentence. “Stand down. Leave the battle to me!”
Skyjade walked towards Yi Yun as his battle armor resounded like an ancient dragon’s roar. At that instant, his aura changed. It felt like he was a towering god that was lofty and beyond reach!
This was a true Sacred Horizon Divine Lord powerhouse! Although Kun Xu was a Sinkhole overlord, he was still far inferior to top Sinkhole figures like Sacred Horizon Divine Lord and Eclipse Arhat!
Skyjade was, in ways, Sacred Horizon Divine Lord’s equal. He had not fought in tens of thousands of years and he was definitely an enemy who would leave one apprehensive!
Skyjade stared intently at Yi Yun. “Yi Yun, I never imagined that you had such strength. I had made a wrong judgment about you. You are truly an elite that appears once in a billion years in the martial world. It will be a pity if you are slain here, but I will absolutely not allow for you to take Her Majesty away!”
Skyjade had a vague understanding of the secret regarding Bai Yueyin’s Grand Reincarnation Technique. Under such circumstances, how could he allow Yi Yun to take Lin Xintong away?
Skyjade waved his right hand as a purple spear appeared in it. The moment the spear appeared, the White Jade Phoenix Palace began to tremble and hum.
“Purple Golden Dragon Patterned Spear. An Ancient Godly Monarch numinous treasure!” someone gasped.
Skyjade was the strongest combat general of the White Lunar Divine Empire. The spear he wielded was not an item that belonged to the White Lunar Divine Empire, but an artifact which had been handed down in his family. It was rumored to be constructed from a dragon bone of an Ancient Godly Monarch. Furthermore, it had been nurtured in the dantian its entire life to create a weapon intrinsic to its owner!
“To even use his Purple Golden Dragon Patterned Spear, it shows that Divine General Skyjade is determined to retain Yi Yun. But Lin Xintong is just beside Yi Yun. Does he not care for Lin Xintong’s wishes…”
A Sinkhole powerhouse was puzzled. Previously, Lin Xintong appeared to hold an extraordinary and absolute status in the White Lunar Divine Empire. Whatever she said was supposed to be final, but now, it appeared that these old subordinates were not fully in compliance with Lin Xintong’s orders.
“Yi Yun, the ancestors of my Skyjade family served an Ancient Godly Monarch. This spear was left in my family after an Ancient Godly Monarch perished. This divine spear contains a sliver of power left behind by the Ancient Godly Monarch. Although it’s only a sliver, it’s not something you can withstand at all!
“This power is not something I would usually use that easily, but I have no other choice today. I’m giving you one last chance. Swear under your Dao heart and leave Her Majesty. If not, I will use this spear to slay you at this coronation and use you as a blood sacrifice to the heavens!”
“Skyjade!” Lin Xintong yelled out.
Although she had cultivated in the Emotion Forgetting Art and had suffered a backlash from her Yuan Qi which injured her meridians, her voice remained daunting!
“Your Majesty, nothing you say today will be of any use. Your humble subordinate can only apologize!”
The person Skyjade was truly loyal to was Bai Yueyin. As for Lin Xintong, she was just a mouthpiece of Bai Yueyin. His respect for Lin Xintong basically stemmed from his respect for Bai Yueyin!
Lin Xintong gripped with anxiety. The strength Yi Yun demonstrated had astounded her, but Divine General Skyjade was different. Besides, he was now using his ancestral weapon!
The power of a Godly Monarch reduced with every use. For Skyjade to pay such a price showed his determination to kill Yi Yun.
“Xintong, hide first.”
As Yi Yun spoke, a spiritual light flashed in his hand as a suction force transmitted over.
“Yi Yun, you…”
“I will definitely take you away with me today.”
Yi Yun placed Lin Xintong into the God Advent Tower.
Upon seeing this scene, everyone was alarmed. Kun Xu had previously mentioned that he had held back because of Lin Xintong’s presence since he was afraid of injuring her. Although it was just talk to redeem himself after being defeated, it was not necessarily false! If Lin Xintong had not been there, Kun Xu could have been wary of Yi Yun’s strength from the beginning and used all his strength. Although it was still possible that he was not Yi Yun’s match, he would not be utterly defeated with a single strike at the very least.
Under such circumstances, wasn’t Yi Yun courting death to let Lin Xintong hide away in his artifact?
Although it was shameless to fight while holding Lin Xintong hostage, how old was Yi Yun? He should have been proud that he could match a Sinkhole powerhouse. Yet, here he was giving an opportunity to his enemy.
“Yi Yun, I’m impressed! It’s very rare for me to be impressed by someone. The departed empress was one, and you are another one. But unfortunately, you will die today!”
As Skyjade spoke, what appeared to be a boundless cosmic background appeared behind him. In the starry background, there were nine stars in a constellation which were especially bright. The nine-starred constellation produced a mysterious arrangement as though they were drawing out an ancient totem.
This was a phenomenon unique to Divine General Skyjade. The Skyjade family clan’s heritage was special. The moment the phenomenon appeared, a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood would appear!
“Skyjade Constellation, Immortal Annihilation Spear Thrust!”
Just as Skyjade was about to attack, the boundless Heaven Earth Yuan Qi was sucked into Skyjade’s spear, leaving a vacuum behind. The Godly Monarch power that laid asleep in the Purple Golden Dragon Patterned Spear roused as it appeared to overturn the cosmos!
All the elites present, including a large number of Divine Lords, felt as though all their lifeblood was being sucked away by the spear. It was extremely uncomfortable. Although the spear was not trained at them, they still felt like they were being slain by the spear!
“Yi Yun is in trouble. How is he to withstand this strike?” Sacred Horizon Divine Lord’s expression changed. He believed that even he would be severely injured if he were to face the strike!
“Even if a Godly Monarch were here, I would still be able to cause bloodshed! As for you, you are just too weak!”
Yi Yun bellowed as a black cauldron, which was bathed in a divine light that radiated throughout the world, flew out of his dantian.
The cauldron produced a might that seemed to render the world asunder. People clearly saw a gigantic black dragon phantom appear from the cauldron as it roared!
Upon seeing the divine dragon’s phantom, everyone felt a jolt through their hearts. Even Sacred Horizon Divine Lord and Eclipse Arhat retreated several steps back. The black dragon’s might was just too horrifying. It was no ordinary Ancient Fey; it appeared to be a legendary Ancient Fey God!
“A mere spear forged from a dragon bone wishes to compete with the Dragon Emperor? Shatter!”
Yi Yun roared out loud as the black Ascending Dragon Cauldron crashed down like it would overturn the world. And at the same time, the ground which Yi Yun’s feet were on produced the shadows of the 10000 Demon Wheel of Existence. It was as though thousands of demons and gods had descended upon the world as they struck at Skyjade!
This strike had unimaginable might. Yi Yun had also used all his strength.
The White Jade Phoenix Palace quaked as the surrounding void shattered. Endless spatial storms swept over as all the Divine Lords present had drastic changes in expressions. They quickly retreated and used their Yuan Qi barriers to protect the younger generation. Amid this terrifying spatial storms, even a Supremacy would be torn to shreds!
It was too powerful. It was as though a Godly Monarch had appeared, invincible and indomitable.
Skyjade spat out a mouthful of blood. His protective Yuan Qi, along with his golden battle armor, tore apart like paper. Nearly all his ribs fractured as his organs were damaged. He was severely injured!
The protective barriers around the White Jade Phoenix Palace failed to withstand the blast as they began cracking. Countless beams of light tore through the barriers as they shot towards the high heavens.
This scene left everyone alarmed. Mu Yun’s and Zhu Ningxie’s bodies were trembling. They did not dare believe what had happened before their very eyes.
Divine General Skyjade had used a sliver of the Godly Monarch powers sealed within the Godly Monarch numinous treasure, but still, he had been defeated by Yi Yun. What level of strength did this Yi Yun have!? Chapter 1548: Unstoppable
Translator: CKtalon Editor: CKtalon
“Lord Skyjade, are you alright!?”
Imperial Preceptor Lingluo’s voice trembled. Her body phased away as she appeared by Skyjade’s side.
At that moment, Divine General Skyjade’s armor was shattered. His hair was disheveled and his body was covered in blood. Although he had an extremely powerful physique, he had fractures and damaged meridians all over his body. He was completely stripped of his ability to continue combat.
It was completely unheard of to have a strength that eliminated Divine General Skyjade’s combat ability with one strike!
“Who else wishes to stop me?”
Yi Yun stood as straight and sharp as a spear hovering in midair. He had already stimulated the Dragon Emperor bloodline in him, causing his potent lifeblood to billow out and head straight for the firmaments. A black cauldron was slowly spinning beneath his feet as it emitted a dragon’s roar.
Although no one recognized the divine cauldron, they were certain that it was a divine artifact more valuable than a Godly Monarch numinous treasure since it was able to suppress one in a frontal assault.
No one dared to make another sound. Lingluo looked at Yi Yun with clenched teeth. This was what backed his audacity, so it was no wonder he came to the White Lunar Divine Empire alone and showed no fear.
Without Bai Yueyin, no one in the White Lunar Divine Empire could stop Yi Yun.
The shock and awe his strength inspired was exactly the effect Yi Yun wanted. Although he had only delivered one strike, he had done it with full strength. After all, there were so many Sinkhole powerhouses present. If the White Lunar Divine Empire were to promise benefits to them and these numerous Divine Lords joined forces in a bid to kill him, Yi Yun would be in grave danger!
「Even if you cannot win in this ecchi competition, it is a natural thing. You don’t have to be embarrassed about it at all…. ne~? Let’s just let it out? Let’s stop holding it in? Just let it leak, okay?」
The interior of her womb was wriggling and twisting itself around my cock, she had a heart mark showing in her eyes and her expression was filled with lust. Mikura whispered in my ears tempting me to let it all out.
Several of her tails which were jutting out of her round ass was moving freely, and a really fluffy feeling was transmitted to my thighs and abdomen even my chest was being wrapped, being gently caressed by her tail it was almost cheating as the amount of pleasurable stimulus was only increasing.
I almost immediately came just like her words were enticing me to do so, but I clenched both my butt and my jaw to endure it best as I could.
「Al……Although it is a shame, even though I don’t particularly dislike being cornered, I prefer to be the one taking control…..! As if I’d be unable to make a mere woman cum and instead I am the one who quickly wets myself, this type of disgrace is not something I am willing to experience!」
「Nfu, if you think that I am just like any average woman that is easy to handle, you are being insolent you know? Well that’s fine, if you were to lose just like this, it would be such a disappointment to me……… Then shall I finally begin my piston movements? I’m going to start! 」
Nunu………. Nuruuu, Myuryu ruriryu bupu……..!
Along with these shameful noises, the lascivious fox raised her plump waist just right on the verge of slipping out of my cock that was covered in love juices.
Her pink pussy lips which was trying to swallow my dark red thing could be seen and it was an indescribably dirty spectacle.
In a single beat, she licked her lips whilst changing to a bow-legged position……….. and she began to perform very intense horse riding hip movements
「Nnha, Ahannnhaaaa! ho~raa horahora~! Just like this from the tip of your cock all the way to its roots! Guchuguchu and muchumuchuu……. Oneesan’s lewd pussy is going round and round~!」
「Uu, Ohh!? W-what a very vulgar waist movement……Kuuuuu!?」
Both of her hands were linked behind the back of her head as her fox-ears were wiggling. Mikura’s naked body was like a goddess as she incessantly twisted and wriggled herself from top to bottom. It almost felt like her whole body was some sort of ona hole that was trying pull my cock out of it just before plunging itself back in.
She was swinging her dancing hips in rhythm with her large bouncing tits, I could smell her sweat filled with sexy pheromones as it danced down her body.
Everything was compounding itself, and this visually appealing scene only added to my arousal, I knew that if I let my guard down for even a moment, I would ejaculate.
「Nn~ horaa hora, what’s wrong? Didn’t you say that you wanted to go on the counter-attack boy!? If things keep going as they are, you will quickly go byuu byuu and let out all that pitiful cum, you’re going to lose and shamefully wet yourself, look~!」
Buchun Bachun the sound of love juices echoes as it keeps flying and spurting out into my abs. I clenched my teeth together, and grabbing the bed sheets so hard they could seemingly tear, I endured the feeling of impending ejaculation.
Of course I was not merely trying to endure it. If that’s all I did, it would only gradually get worse.
Being inside of this heavenly pleasure trap, I stared hard at Mikura’s facial expression. I was observing it. I cannot overlook the change that will occur–!
「Nfufufu, you don’t even have luxury of being able to talk anymore? Then let me wring out all of your semen for you, little boy, let out all of that thick, hot semen into oneesan’s womb, fully cum to your hearts content! 」
Finally, this erotic fox was trying to finish of my cock as she moved her waist even more relentlessly than before, little by little I would adjust the angle of my waist so that I could search for that perfect spot to swing my hips.
In the middle of this, her voice became even more seductive as she let out a sweet moan, her golden colour eyebrows were slightly frowning as she began to look like she was enduring herself, I did not miss this opportunity!
「I…Is that where it is, oraaaa!!」
「Eh? –Nnniiihiiii!!? 」
I firmly gripped Mikura’s waist and returning the position of my body to hit that same angle, I swung my waist upwards with all my might!
In that instant, her expression totally melted as she slovenly thrust out her tongue whilst stopping her own waist movements completely.
Bikun Bikunn!! her vagina was convulsing violently letting me know how effective my attacks were.
「Oh…….Nn, Ohh…….!!? I-It can’t be, t….that place iss ahhh…….!?」
Naturally, it wasn’t like I just switched to the offensive randomly.
Just a little while ago, when I moved my waist purposefully, the tip of my cock slightly touched against her weak spots. It was one of her vagina’s erogenous zones. Although her reactions may have been unnoticeable as it was only very slight in change, it was not able to escape my eyes.
「At long last I’ve managed to find it, your great demoness-sama’s weak spot that is! If I tried to recklessly find this spot by swinging my hips, I wouldn’t be able to endure myself, that’s why I saved up my strength, and planned to go on the counteroffensive once I found the breakthrough point!」
「T-that’s what you’ve been aiming for all this time, b-boy……!? Yaa, Nnhyuuunn!?」
Dozunn……..!! Without giving her a chance to change her posture, I went on the offensive with my own piston motions.
I pressed and rubbed against her erogenous areas, furthermore I plunged my cock so deep inside of her womb as if I was trying to crush it with my hard cock, when I did this, Mikura’s mouth opened up and she began to let out a completely different type of slutty moan from her lips.
「Haaoohhhhhh, Nnnohhhhhhh!!? I-it can’t be, for a little human boy like you to discover my weak spot is………Ohhooooo!?」
「Oraa, as if I’d let you escape!! From here on out, it really is a battle to see who can endure the longest, I’m going to wrench it open, Mikuraa! I’m going to reveal your true face at the height of pleasure!!」
「Nnhiiiiiii, i-it’s continuously pumping me from beloww, pumpi……. Nnnahhh ah ah ahhhhhhh Ohhhh!!?」
I used the technique that I’ve honed to make Kirika, Nina, the princess and all the other girls cry and did my everything, my cock turned into a pile bunker that stabs her pussy-meat, again and again and again!
However, my opponent was a veteran with several thousand years of experience, she was the Immortal Fox Goddess. She won’t surrender just from something like this.
「N-not bad at all, a-as expected of the man that I have high expectations of………! However, I still have the advantage, boy, Nnhiiiiii!? All the way to the depths of your balls, I will wring out all of its contents with my ero ero manko!!」(manko = vagina)
She stopped trying to escape and instead she began to accelerate her own fluid movements of her waist in harmony with my own. Naturally, the amount of pleasurable stimulus that we both needed to endure skyrocketed.
As long as even a single point of life gauge is available when the opponent’s life gauge reaches zero, then it will be that person’s victory, this is what my instincts were telling me.
「That is just how I like it, I will also never surrender, I will be the one to drive you mad and make you cum! I will expose your ungraceful agehao face!! ora ora ora ora oraaa!!」
「Nnohh, Ohhhh!!? A-as if I’d lose just like thatt!! Nnnnuu~~~ Ah Auuuu~~~~!!?」
Both of our genitals were armed as they clashed against each other, the first to make the other bend to our will is the victor………The both of us were starting to lose any breathing room we had and gradually our techniques in bed were getting worse, it changed into this uncouth contest of stamina against stamina.
The fact that this was actually a dream world that was limited only by the power of one’s mind, was actually advantageous for me.
In terms of my actual physical strength and my ability to control my own body, I probably have no chance of winning against a top-class demoness like her. However, it is an entirely different story in this dimension and unless your mind is broken, it is not possible to lose.
「Hiii, Nnhiiguuuunnnnn!!? Ah t-the strength of your mind, exactly where is it from…… for a mere human being like you to be able to contend in my own spirit world which I rule over is, is…….Oh, Ooouuu ohhhhh!!?」
If you were to ask why I am different from a normal person, well that’s because I totally changed when I died in that moment.
I had decided that I would never have any more regrets.
I will never serve under another, be hindered by another, nor flatter another’s ego, I only want to live freely, I swore this to myself and I changed. In that case, as long as I don’t accept defeat within my mind, no matter who the opponent is there is no reason for me to lose.
Using this conviction, I suppressed this ferocious desire and instinct to ejaculate…… and this beautiful high-ranking demoness in front of me, I merely devoted my everything to think of her as a single woman in heat that I want to rule and dominate over!
「Uraa, oraaa!! If I continue just like this and make you cum so hard, at that moment that your mind weakens and shows its gap……. If I were poke at that weakened spot with all my force, don’t you think that my Enslavement Magic will be able to activate even at this place!? Am I mistaken!?」
「Ohhhhhiiiiiiinnnn, Nnnohhhh!!? T-that, don’t tell me, that is what you’ve been aiming for from the startttt!!?」
I scrubbed my cock the spot just below her womb, and I alternated between this pleasure point and her weak point continuing to push up against her, that’s when Mikura’s facial expression began to melt.
Just as I suspected. Although it was only a miniscule possibility, it seems that as long as I was able to overwhelm her spirit and mind and defeat her in this spirit world, I would be able to apply my enslavement magic towards her.
「Y….you really want, to make me seriously fall into depravity!!? So even this match was planned by you in order to ensnare this Immortal Fox Goddess with your enslavement magic, as a mere human being that is forgetting your position and being clouded by wild ambitions……..Nnn ahh Ahyiiii!!?」
「That’s obvious, if I want something I will make it mine, no matter who it is!!」
Nevertheless, Mikura was also fighting back with a strong will.
At best a human being can only live up to about 100 years, not only was I much younger than her, she wasn’t going to accept being made to cum by a greenhorn like me. This was the pride of being a demoness that ruled over everything, no this was her pride of being the older woman.
And it was then that a dreadful change occurred.
Michi michi….. her juicy soft vagina flesh wriggles and the tightness increases as it wrapped around my cock, it was like the shape of it changed to perfectly fit to the mould of my dick.
「Uuuohh!? T-the shape suddenly changed….!?」
「Nnfu, Nfufu…….! In this dream world of mine, I can change my body freely to a certain extent dawa……! So that it would perfectly fit and stimulate all of your pleasurable spots I made a slight change and shift to it, so I don’t think that you will be able to endure it like you’ve been doing up till now, little boy, zoooreee!!」
Nyuuruuunn……… Nyugurunnnn!! Nyuguryuryu, Buryururyu!!
Her perfect pussy was like a weapon of mass destruction as a violent impulse surged through my cock, she was squeezing it and gobbling it up, her ability to constrict and squeeze was reaching a whole other level.
My glans, the tip of my head, the frenulum of my penis, the blood vessels, the urethra opening of my cock, each of these extremely sensitive locations for a man was being pleasured incessantly.
This is bad……. If this continues, I will be driven into a corner and it’s only a matter of time before I am forced to ejaculate against my own will!
「Nfuu……..Nfufu! hooraa hora what’s wrong? The strength of your cock pushing up against me has declined you know? Even now your cock is starting to shiver and wants to cum, all of this information is being transmitted to me you know……!?」
「Uu, Uwaaa!? I-is this where the tables will be turned on me……!?」
However, little did she know, I still had a trump card hidden as a last resort.
I planned to use this when the critical moment arrives, even now I was pretending to be on the verge of cumming– while it may be true that I wanted to cum badly– I was also showing her an expression of hopelessness as if I’d already given up in order to make her become careless.
「Now then, although you’ve tried harder than I expected, it’s about to end isn’t it? To think that you would dare to try and win against me and then dominate me with your magic, I will make you regret having such an outrageous ambition dawa, little boy…….! Now, why don’t you let out your pitiful semen and just give up–」
I was waiting for this precise expression on her face when she thought that she had already won.
「–iii? ………….Nhiiiiiiiiiii ih ih ihhh!!? Ho, Hoeeeeeeeeee ehhh!!?」
slutty and vulgar…….. but a very erotic and attractive expression nonetheless as she broke down and showed me her agehao face. Her fox ears stood up straight.
I had reached my hands towards her soft fox tails and I had tightly grasped and pulled on her tail from its roots.
This is the precise special weapon that I refrained from using at the start.
「As I expected…… Palmyra and Flamia both of them are the same, and it seems that you demonesses have the same weak points: Your horns, your wings and things that grow from your bodies, these are all things which are in fact highly erogenous zones!」
「Ohhhh Oooouuu, Oohh Ohhhhooooo Oh oh uuuuuu!!? D-don’t tell me, you couldn’t have aimed for this from the startttttt ehhhh!!?」
Naturally she would be aware of her own weak spots and if she was guarded against me the effects probably wouldn’t be all that much.
However right now, her mind and spirit were being weakened because I was simultaneously cornering her weak spots.
Because I made her let her guard go down, and then made a surprise attack before she was able to anticipate it, it produced the most optimal result.
「Rubbing this hard lump of flesh at the base of your tail and at the same time poking your womb, how does it feel?! I will turn you into a slut great demoness-sama, take that! Submit to my cock and surrender yourself you perverted fox!! 」
「H-how impertinenttt, little boy you haven’t even reached 100 years of age, you are getting way ahead of yourse-……. Ohhhhhh!!? It can’t be, it can’t be like thisss Aahhhh!!? Ahiiii Hiigiiiiiuuu!?」
Tearing of the last vestiges of her mask, her tits which were dripping out of her kimono was being massaged as I traced along it with a circular motion like this “∞”.
At the same time, the countdown to my ejaculation had also started up.
Not only that, Mikura who was also on the verge of cumming used her flesh like an instrument, as if it was a creature in its death throes, it was shrinking and squeezing the semen out of my cock. When it comes to this, it has become a chicken race to see whether or not you can last a single second longer than your opponent.
「Ora cum for me! Surrender yourself and cum for me Mikuraa!! Having a man who you underestimated, use his cock to gouge out your vagina, you are going to cum hard!! Ora ora oraoraoraaaaaa!!」
「A-as if I’d cum for youu!! I’m going to be the one to draw out the thick soup out of little boy’s schlong with my noble vaginaa!! Nnnnuuu Ahhhnn fuuueeee~~~!!!」
While shouting out, I was pushing up my cock which was on the verge of exploding without stopping.
Whilst panting, Mikura was continuing to convulse as her lewd pussy was twisting and turning in order to wring me out and deliver the finishing blow.
Although each of them were trying to outwit and outlast the other, the both of them were working together to move their waists in coordination……..finally reaching the end of their strange unison, the both of them peaked to their limits.
「Ahhh, Ah ahh uuuwaa!? Ahh auuu no way, no wayy no wayy!!? For someone like me to lose!? I’m really going to be made to cumm………. I’m cumming cuminngg cuminggggg!!? NNohhhh Oh Oh Hooooooooohh Ohh~~~~~~!!」
「Kuaaaahh, Uwaaaaahh!!? I’m at my limit…….! I’m cumming I’m going to let it out, I’m going to paste it all over you………Kuuuuuuohhhhh!!」
Bupi…….. Dobyuururuuuu!! Gubyururuu, Byuruurunnnn!!
Byupunnn, Byupu Byuryuuuu!! Dobyu Dobyuuu!!
A muffled ejaculation sound echoed as I exploded over and over again in the interior of her womb.
Now thinking about it, this life of Sha Emperor’s wasn’t easy. He could also be considered to be an addict, not hesitating to turn himself into a puppet so not even Han’s dark vision can notice him.
Then, he gathered Gold, Earth, Water, Fire, the four big warlords and turned them into puppets as well. That way, when necessary, he could integrate all four powers into his body.
But now the situation was that he ran into the unreasonable Han, and his unreasonable power. If the four powers can combine, the godlike strength would be something no one can even imagine, but now they were all stolen from him!
Fruit Bat Now, Sha Emperor was just a regular soldier.
Without power, he can only go head on with Han. This is like an eagle having its wings broken, leaving it with just the claws, which is very hard to adapt.
Sha Emperor isn’t adapting to this kind of battle well, but Han’s already accustomed to it, because he never had those fancy abilities. Since the beginning, he would always take away enemy’s power first and then fight with weapons.
“Path of Earth! Ground Shattering Godly Hammer!”
The more Han fought, the fiercer he become!
Demon Strike, that’s his way of fighting!
The enemy doesn’t have power anymore anyways, he just have to exchange blows with him now!
As someone that started his career learning forbidden techniques, what Han’s best at is fighting with swords and blades!
And Silver Fox, Ghost Claw, Demon Claw, the three little monsters have also been around Han for a long time, so they already adapted to it a long time ago!
The little thing Silver Fox spotted an opening, and he went up for a swipe. It landed on Sha Emperor’s face and took off a piece of flesh, even exposing bones.
After taking drugs, the Star-Strangling Boa in Han’s hand became extremely fierce, each strike would slash down with a white light. Although Sha Emperor now had the physical strength of four warlords, but he didn’t dare to take the attacks at all, and he could only rely on his nerve reactions to dodge.
Han led the three monsters and chased Sha Emperor the whole way!
These guys desperately attacked like they had gone mad!
And this gave Sha Emperor a forehead of sweat.
The so-called Demon Strike was to attack like a mad demon, forcing the enemy to expose an opening. No matter how strong the enemy was, the moment he slips up, Han will make him perish!
Under the situation of no power, extremely few people could withstand Han’s attacks.
When Sha Emperor was facing Han’s Demon Strikes, he still exposed some flaws in defense, even with four warlords powers in him. After all, his profession was not a warrior, so even with the additional power, he still carried the weakness of a puppeteer. He didn’t have the tenacity and determination of a warrior, and his attention was also not very focused.
At this level of battle, any flaw will only bring one result, death!
Only 0.01 second of being distracted couldn’t allow Sha Emperor to dodge Han’s Ares-class weapon. The Star Strangling Boa slashed down from Sha Emperor’s right arm, even taking down half of his left shoulder.
Sha Emperor was stunned for just a second, and the Demon Claw’s sharp claw immediately penetrated his chest, the Ghost Claw’s claw pierced his tummy, and Silver Fox’s claw opened his throat.
Han then gave another blow, bottom-up, splitting this mighty Witch Clan King in half.
One of the Three Kings of Witch Clan, King of Puppets, Sha Emperor.
The battle finally ended. Han sat on the floor, while Demon Claw and Ghost Claw cleaned up the battlefield.
And Silver Fox ran far, found Fusion Beast #1, and took him back.
Fusion Beast #1 was definitely the definition of disloyalty. When the battle came to the end, he actually just turned around and ran. At that time Han was already fighting Sha Emperor, so he didn’t have time to control him.
Han was even too lazy to take a look at him, and placed his unsuccessful Fusion Beast #1 directly into the dimension ring.
From Sha Emperor’s body, Han took out a dimension ring of 100 cubic meters in volume, and dumped the things out onto the ground.
After a long time of rummaging, Han found a daily log and found out the truth
It turned out that Sha Emperor placed some mini-puppets on Earth, and when Han came back to Earth, these puppets got into his ship and spied on Han and Yuan Yuan’s conversation. Then, Sha Emperor came here in advance, ambushed the entire puppet army, and then remotely controlled his starship to hide.
Aside from that, there were also some notebooks on puppets. Han tried to read some, and he very quickly found some contents that interested him.
There’s a part of the notes that talked about means to make puppets loyal to him.
In a nutshell, Sha Emperor would make a little thing called the parasite puppet to be placed inside big puppets. That way, the parasite puppet could control the bigger-sized puppets.
This method was especially effective to humanoid and beast-type puppets. Because Sha Emperor wanted to keep their combat strength and battle instincts, he usually chose to keep these two type of puppets’ brain, and the controlling method would be just implanting the parasite puppets.
Han became really interested in what he was reading. If he could learn how to make these parasite puppets himself, then couldn’t he also plant them inside the fusion beasts? That way, the rebellious nature of the fusion beasts would be completely reversed!
Thinking about this, Han became very excited. He carefully stored all of Sha Emperor’s notes and data for a careful read later. Now, his skillset was already pretty mixed anyways, it wouldn’t make too much of a difference to add one more.
When sorting through other things left by Sha Emperor, Han found another sealed box, and it contains a black crsytal.
Han opened the box, and then hesitated.
Chapter on the house homies~
We will always try to release at 12 AM Eastern Time from now.
Discipline, bitches~ Chapter 236: Hand of Darkness
This thing looked like a person’s hand bones. The fingers and joints were all there. It was not made of bone however, but rather a black crystal.
Han became very excited, because he had already absorbed two pieces, one Heart of Darkness, and another Genu of Darkness.
“Could this be the Hand of Darkness? The third one of the Dark Celestial King’s Set of Seven?” Han mumbled to himself in excitement.
He quickly turned to Sha Emperor’s daily log and found the relevant content.
It turned out this this was really the Hand of Darkness, and it was something Sha Emperor obtained while traveling through the Memphis galaxy. It is said that two dark crystals appeared in the Memphis Galaxy, and Sha Emperor killed many people to get the Hand of Darkness.
The Heart of Darkness allowed Han’s right eye to activate special vision, and it also allowed Han to use the power of darkness in his attacks. On the other hand, the Genu of Darkness enhanced Han’s speed and stamina.
Of course, Han now knew very well the seven crystals left behind by the dark king had a huge empowering effect. After Han used the Genu of Darkness, his right eye’s dark vision also became more powerful than before.
In other words, the enhancement on an individual by the dark crystal must be assessed from an overall level, and absorbing additional crystals will enhance the abilities gained from other crystals.
Thinking for a second, Han took out a pair of black gloves from the Lunar Mark, with a metal texture.
This set of gloves were found together with the Genu of Darkness, but Han tried it on multiple times with no effect. It wouldn’t improve his attack, nor enhance his defense, as if the pair of gloves were not activated at all.
Now that Han had the Hand of Darkness, maybe after absorbing it, this pair of equipment that was suspected to come from the Dark King could finally be useful, right?
Thinking about that, Han stored both the hand and gloves back into his Lunar Mark.
Breakable He had previously only felt that someone was spying on him, and ended up catching such a big fish, killing one of the kings of the Witch Clan and getting such a huge benefit.
Hand of Darkness, Parasitic Puppet technique, and the location of the next dark crystal.
Memphis was a distant star system in another area of the Milky Way Alliance in the complete opposite direction of the Oblivion Realm.
According to intel, the Memphis star system retained a rare primitive religion in the Milky Way, and consequently, the most fanatical believers of the primitive religion. That is where the Witch Clan was based, and because the Witch Clan was loyal to all major countries in the Milky Way, their base wasn’t targeted too much.
Estimating with the star map, it will take more than a month of flight for Han to get there from where he is, so there wasn’t enough time already. Han still needed to attend the judgement arena that will decide his fate.
As for the Hand of Darkness, Han didn’t plan on using it immediately. Fact has proven that using the dark crystals every time was a hellish endeavor, so a deliberate decision must be made carefully.
Han quickly returned to Earth. The thought of using parasitic puppets to control fusion beasts was already making him very excited.
He began to study puppet techniques in his own lab in the Nazca base, completing shutting himself up and constantly experimenting with the methods.
Of course, Han wouldn’t forget to practice martial arts at the transfer station. All in all, Han was very busy every day,.
Continuously learning, continuously practicing, spending a lot of time to better himself, that was Han’s life.
Time passed day by day, and one day, Han finally came out of the lab, going directly to the bottom floor of the base where the molecular module was stored.
It was time to go to the judgement arena now, and the success or failure depended on his skills.
If Han wins, he will have the opportunity to be promoted to the final destination, or even get the Star Lord title, becoming an official member of the Dark Net Corporation, and gain access to unimaginable benefits and convenience.
If he loses, he might die, or may lose the chance to enter the deep level of dark net forever.
Han let out a long breath, opened the particle module, and laid himself in it.
The program was as accurate as usual. After a few minutes when Han opened the particle module the hyper teleportation had already sent him to the trial court.
On this open ground, there were some people. They had all arrived here too and were putting away their particle modules, and then following the signs to enter the main arena.
Han saw many strange people here. There was a guy whose whole body was blue, and emanated a dim cold light like a deep-sea creature, with two ears like snails.
There was also another guy, his face looking like an octopus with tentacles for a beard.
They were all intelligent species that came from Han’s sector.
According to what Han knew, the universe was divided into an unknown number of large sectors, and then there were normal sectors below it, and then small sectors below that.
The reason why Han can always meet people from the God Race was because humans and the God Race were the most populated intelligent races in the same small sector, and other alien races were really rare.
But this time, the judgement trial was at the normal sector level, so there were also many opponents from other small sectors that will be joining.
All in all, in the small sector that Han belonged to, all the intelligent lives were humanoid creatures, but everyone had different features.
According to the information Han gathered, all intelligent lives likely came from the same kind of spores, and for some reason, these spores were scattered throughout the universe, and after millions of years of evolution, they ultimately formed to the intelligent life groups seen now.
It’s also because they all came from the same spores, that all intelligent lives look similar, all standing upright with two arms and two legs, and the differences grew as they progressed through evolution.
Just like the god race, the genetic mutation that took place during evolution opened a suture on their forehead.
And these strange-looking people Han was looking at now, some of their genetic mutations were even more prominent than the God Races, but some other people looked just like a human, not going through any different genetic mutations.
It was a pretty interesting event to gather all these different types of humanoid intelligent lifeforms all to one place.
Han also found that not only the appearance of these people didn’t differ much, even their temperaments were quite alike. They all came here because they broke the Path of All Gods’ rules, so most of them were really rebellious and impatient.
But they knew that they would get kicked out soon if they don’t change their behavior, so all of them tried hard to restrain themselves.
Han also stowed away his Molecular Module, followed the signs, passed through a jungle and arrived at a seemingly endless plain.
People that came here couldn’t help but gasp in shock, because there was a big lake on this plain. It was boundless, like the ocean, with emerald colored water, crystal clear, giving people a very unreal feeling. Han even suspected that it was not water in this lake, but a specially blended solution.
Otherwise there was no explanation as to why this lake was so attractive, so crystal clear, and exuded a perfumed aroma.
Everyone gathered near the lake and looked at the lake in surprise.
Someone reached out their hand and scooped up some of the liquid. The texture of it was like oil, very slippery and dense.
With that, he vanished to begin the lengthy and difficult process of recovery. Chapter 841: Master, Save Me!
Back on the battlefield in the Wildlands, the Grand Heavenmaster and the other powerful experts stood there with very serious expressions on their faces. Bai Xiaochun’s mind was still reeling from the sight of that huge vine. However, the northern part of the Great Wall was too far away, so he hadn’t been able to see how the vine defeated the Celestial.
However, the Celestial’s enraged voice had echoed out to fill the Wildlands, and therefore, everyone back on the battlefield had gasped and looked over at the gravekeeper.
Bai Xiaochun had known before that the gravekeeper was powerful. But to see it with his own eyes was a different thing. Now, he truly knew that the gravekeeper’s battle prowess was at an unimaginable level!
“That girl joined forces with the Celestial… but in the end, they were both injured and forced to flee….” Suddenly, Bai Xiaochun swallowed hard. He wished he could run over and grab onto the gravekeeper’s leg. After all, his identity had been revealed to everyone.
After thinking about everything he had done in the Wildlands, his heart began to pound with anxiety. His actions as Bai Hao had caused countless people to hate him, and now that they knew he was the notorious fugitive Bai Xiaochun, there would be no shortage of people who wanted to kill him even more than before. In fact, if they lined up and took turns, it would probably take over a hundred years to get through them all….
“The only person who can save me is Great-Grandpa Gravekeeper…. I have to think of a way to get him to pay attention to me….” Muttering to himself, he took advantage of the fact that nobody was paying attention to him to start inching toward the gravekeeper.
Everyone else was still stunned from the shocking battle they had just witnessed. As for the gravekeeper, he sighed and declined to pursue the Celestial. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to; he simply couldn’t. If possible, he wished to avoid that level of conflict with the Celestial right now!
The truth was that he actually didn’t have very much time left….
He had been very reluctant to use that divine ability of his which inflicted eternal injuries onto the world itself. There were now five gaping wounds up in the sky.
And on the ground, there was a huge mountain, a river of blood, a golden cauldron… and a sun!
All of them were eternal objects. And of course, the gravekeeper knew that it was just as the Celestial had said; he couldn’t use that divine ability again.
The five elements of metal, wood, water, fire, earth, which were closely connected to the five yin organs, were unique, but were also classified as a trump card even for the gravekeeper.
“What a pity that I only managed to hit that blood-hair,” he murmured to himself, “and didn’t manage to kill him completely….” He looked much older than he had earlier, and his aura was clearly fading away in a way that could not be replenished.
The Celestial had laid a trap for him, and he had turned that trap around into a deadly ambush!
But in the end, neither of them had completely succeeded in their aims.
The fact that the little girl had escaped wasn’t very important to him, and in fact, he had let her go. He knew exactly where she came from, and it was actually a safety precaution to refrain from killing her. Besides, he had another goal in mind, and knew that he could get her to unwittingly help him.
The main thing he cared about was the Celestial!
Even as the gravekeeper sighed and contemplated these things, the cold voice of a woman suddenly echoed out, breaking the silence.
“You think you can get away, Bai Xiaochun!?!?” It was none other than Mistress Red-Dust, who had finally awoken from her reverie. When she looked over and saw Bai Xiaochun slinking away from her, she thought back to their encounter back in the labyrinth, and immediately grew angry.
Her shout caused everyone else to come to their senses, and all of them turned to look over at Mistress Red-Dust and Bai Xiaochun. A strange expression could be seen on the Giant Ghost King’s face. A glimmer passed through the Grand Heavenmaster’s eyes, and he looked over at the gravekeeper. As for the War Champion King and the Nine Serenities King, they both wore frowns on their faces. The only person who was smiling was the Spirit Advent King, and it seemed like a genuine, jovial smile.
Chen Haosong and the other heavenly dukes had unsightly expressions on their faces. Back during the shocking battle which had just played out, they had not been able to spare any attention for Bai Xiaochun. But now that the fighting was over, they thought back to how he had been using the name Bai Hao, and how he had wreaked bloody havoc all through the Wildlands. That caused gleams of ill intent to appear in their eyes.
Terror gripped Bai Xiaochun’s heart, and his expression flickered. Rushing backward a few paces, he cried out loudly, “Everybody calm down! I can explain!”
The demigods didn’t move, nor did the heavenly dukes. However, the rage on Mistress Red-Dust’s face couldn’t have been more dramatic. When she thought back to what he had done to her in the labyrinth, and how he was now her fiancé, it made her so angry that she couldn’t hold back from racing directly toward him.
“You owe me an explanation, Bai Xiaochun!!” she screamed.
“Zimo, you… I saved your life! I’m your greatest benefactor!!” Anxiety mounting by the moment, he backed up even faster.
Turning to the Giant Ghost King, he shouted, “Father-in-law, save me!!”
His words caused even more strange expressions to appear on the faces of the demigods. The Giant Ghost King cleared his throat in embarrassment and pretended he hadn’t heard. However, Mistress Red-Dust’s rage increased.
“Shut up!!” she shot back, accelerating as she headed toward Bai Xiaochun. Wracked with nervousness, Bai Xiaochun turned and started running in the direction of the gravekeeper.
“Master, save me!!”
When he said the word Master, the Grand Heavenmaster gasped, and the Giant Ghost King’s jaw dropped. The expressions of the Nine Serenities King, War Champion King, and Spirit Advent King all flickered, and the hearts of Chen Haosong and the heavenly dukes began to pound.
Even Mistress Red-Dust was caught off-guard, and lurched to a stop. Eyes wide, she watched Bai Xiaochun hurry over to the gravekeeper and then offer him formal greetings the way an apprentice would to a Master.
The gravekeeper wasn’t sure whether to laugh or cry. He looked at Bai Xiaochun staring at him in melodramatic fashion, and couldn’t help but shake his head. Waving his sleeve, he declined to say anything, and simply vanished, taking Bai Xiaochun along with him.
The Grand Heavenmaster and everyone else stared at the spot the gravekeeper had just disappeared from, their hearts shaking with shock. The fact that Bai Xiaochun had used the word Master left them deeply and profoundly shocked.
Chen Haosong suddenly felt profoundly nervous, and dispelled any thoughts of causing problems for Bai Xiaochun in the future. Although the gravekeeper hadn’t admitted the truth with words, the fact that he had taken Bai Xiaochun away with him explained everything.
Of course, the Grand Heavenmaster had long since come to the realization that the gravekeeper had taken an interest in Bai Xiaochun. After a short moment of silence, he transmitted messages to the four heavenly kings. Out of respect for the Hell-Emperor, they all agreed to keep the matter of Bai Xiaochun’s identity a secret!
The only news which would be allowed to spread was that the little girl had been impersonating Bai Xiaochun. His true identity would not be revealed.
After making the agreement formal, everyone departed. The battle which had just been fought had been too sudden, and too important. Troops needed to be deployed. After all, the fact that the Great Wall had fallen… meant that big changes were coming.
The last to leave were the Giant Ghost King and Mistress Red-Dust. Mixed emotions could be seen on the Giant Ghost King’s face as he turned to his stunned daughter. He sighed.
“Mo’er, I didn’t think things through carefully enough. About the marriage agreement… let’s just cancel it, alright?”
Mistress Red-Dust stood there quietly, looking off into space. She didn’t say anything. Her mind was filled with an image of Bai Xiaochun pulling her to safety in a moment of deadly crisis. Instead of just fleeing on his own, he had taken it upon himself to protect her….
Eventually, everyone was gone, and silence filled the lands. However, the five wounds in the sky were still there, and the vast gulches which had been hewn in the lands during the course of the fighting remained. The evidence of the world-shaking battle was still there.
Back in the Underworld River Restricted Area, two figures stepped out of thin air onto the bank of the river. They were none other than the gravekeeper and Bai Xiaochun.
Bai Xiaochun was feeling as nervous as ever. He knew that the matter of his identity had been declared a secret, and at the moment, he was clasping hands in formal and very polite fashion to the gravekeeper.
“Great-Grandpa Gravekeeper…. Um… it’s not that I wanted to trick everyone. You understand, right, sir? I, Bai Xiaochun, am a very kind-hearted person! I don’t like causing problems! I’m very well-behaved. I just want to get back to the River-Defying Sect. They’re the ones who all want to kill me. I disguised myself to try to be able to get home safely. Proclamation of Universal Grace? Inspections commissioner? Shakedowns? I never meant to do any of those things. Ai. Sometimes in life, you just have to make some compromises!” As he spoke, he kept his eye on the gravekeeper to try to assess his attitude. However, the more he went along, the more he really felt like he had the short end of the stick. He had just been going with the flow, which ended up forcing him to do a lot of things he didn’t really want to do.
No expression could be seen on the gravekeeper’s face as he listened to Bai Xiaochun. Finally, he waved his hand, summoning a black command medallion that he tossed toward Bai Xiaochun.
“The Celestial used Heavenspan Sea water to create a barrier where the four sections of the Great Wall once stood. No one will be able to get through that barrier any time soon. I am unable to leave the Wildlands, so I can’t escort you home. If you really want to get back to the River-Defying Sect, you’ll need to go through the Deadmire. And the only way you’ll get through it safely is with this command medallion.” Surprised, Bai Xiaochun accepted the command medallion. As soon as it touched his skin, intense coldness rushed into him. Clearly, it was some sort of precious object. Bai Xiaochun had heard of the Deadmire before. There were even some people who called it the Emptymire, as it was a location between the Heavenspan region and the Wildlands that was completely empty of all life.
There were only four areas where the Deadmire was accessible, all of which were near the Great Wall. With the command medallion he now possessed, he could enter it, and thus leave the Wildlands. Furthermore, it would actually speed up his journey back to the River-Defying Sect. After all, his original plan had been to cross the Great Wall, which would have eventually required that he travel back to the Starry Sky Dao Polarity Sect by boat.
The fact that the gravekeeper was treating him so well was moving. Obviously, the command medallion was no fake; if the gravekeeper wanted to get rid of him, he wouldn’t have needed to resort to some trap to do it.
“Great-Grandpa… you really are like my own great-grandfather…. Well, I guess I’ll take my leave now!” With that, he prepared to leave. After all, the Wildlands was a dangerous place, and considering that everyone was currently a bit stunned by who Bai Xiaochun’s Master was, it seemed like the perfect time to get away.
Of course, the Celestial’s attitude gave him pause. But considering that he was a very unimportant person in the grand scheme of things, it seemed unlikely that important people like the Celestial would pay much attention to him. Besides, he hadn’t done anything to offend the Celestial directly.
“If I just slip back quietly, it should be fine.” Although he felt a bit hesitant, now that his identity had been revealed, the Wildlands was definitely much more dangerous than the River-Defying Sect.
However, just as he made his decision, the gravekeeper suddenly started talking again. He stood there on the bank of the Underworld River, his hands clasped behind his back as he said, “Do you remember how I answered you all those years ago when you asked for my name…?”
“Huh?” Bai Xiaochun said, stopping in place and looking back.
“This world is basically a huge tomb, buried within which is a sovereign known as the Arch-Lord…. I am he who watches over his grave. The gravekeeper.” For some reason, the gravekeeper looked older than ever as he spoke.
“Upon that sovereign’s death, he closed the Worldgate and left instructions that only someone who cultivated his legacy all the way to the Mahayana Realm, a celestial, could open that gate. Until then, no one is permitted to leave this world!” He spoke softly, an ancient gleam in his eyes as though he were contemplating the past.
“A tomb?” Bai Xiaochun said with a soft gasp. Although he had learned a bit about the world in scattered bits throughout the years, this was his first time getting such a detailed explanation. The fact that the world he lived in was actually a tomb caused his eyes to widen, and his heart to race.
“His descendants became the imperial clan,” the gravekeeper continued. “And that is the origin of the Arch-Emperors, and also why this world’s true name is… the Arch-Emperor Realm!” The gravekeeper wasn’t looking at Bai Xiaochun, which made it seem like he was talking to himself as he contemplated ancient times.
“Were it not for certain unexpected events, this world should have long since seen an emperor who rose from the Demigod Realm to the Mahayana Realm…. Unfortunately, unexpected events did occur. A cultivator with spectacular talent created a new technique, a type of celestial magic. He forged his own path of cultivation, and eventually toppled the Arch-Emperor Dynasty!” Although the Gravekeeper was speaking very quietly at this point, Bai Xiaochun could tell that there was a touch of praise in his voice when he mentioned this certain cultivator. Obviously, that cultivator was so spectacular that he was deserving of praise by the gravekeeper. Furthermore, Bai Xiaochun knew exactly who he was.
“I was unable to interfere with the matter. In fact, there are many things that I can’t interfere with. I’m just a gravekeeper after all. I watch over the sovereign’s tomb, I tend to the cycle of reincarnation, and I defend the Worldgate. The first time I took any action at all was to ensure that the imperial clan wasn’t exterminated, and that the Joss Flame of the world continued to burn here in the Wildlands. However, the price I paid for interfering was that my time of existence was cut in half.
“That cultivator I mentioned spent years trying to find me. When he did, he asked me to open the Worldgate. He was illegitimate, so naturally I refused, but I did tell him the proper method to achieve his goal!
“However, the Arch-Lord’s legacy was not suitable for him. He came to me over and over again, and tried many ways to convince me. But in the end, he finally came to the conclusion that the only way to leave this place would be to kill me.
“Presumably, you know who that cultivator is. He is Daoist Heavenspan, also known as… the Celestial.” At this point, the gravekeeper turned and looked at Bai Xiaochun.
The gravekeeper’s words already had Bai Xiaochun reeling in astonishment, and yet, that astonishment grew more intense when Bai Xiaochun saw the gravekeeper’s face.
The gravekeeper seemed even older than before, so much so that he looked like he had just climbed out of a grave. He was very different from before, and fairly radiated a sense of weakness.
“I’m very old…. I’ve been around for far too long. I suspect that when that sovereign created me, he didn’t expect for me to exist for this much time. My original fate was to perish along with the opening of the Worldgate.” It seemed as if the gravekeeper didn’t mind the fact that he was growing extremely old at all.
“I don’t have much time left, so I decided to take action earlier. Unfortunately… not even calling upon forbidden magic was I able to kill him.
“Acting in the way I did reduced my time even further…. In addition, the wounds caused by the forbidden magic have pushed the world closer to the brink of collapse.” The gravekeeper shook his head, regret shining in his eyes.
As of this point, Bai Xiaochun felt like he understood everything. The gravekeeper was not just regretful for having failed in killing the Celestial in the recent battle. He regretted not having done so earlier. Because of the various limitations he faced, he had allowed the Celestial to keep living and grow into what he was today.
In fact, he had taken action today in the hopes of making up for some of those past mistakes!
“I knew from the beginning that I might fail to kill him. But I decided to try anyway…. The truth was that, even before you came to the Wildlands, I had already begun to make arrangements for what happens after I die.” The gravekeeper sighed and looked over at Bai Xiaochun.
“The successor of the Hell-Emperor?” Bai Xiaochun asked hesitantly, his heart beginning to pound. The gravekeeper nodded, causing Bai Xiaochun’s heart rate to increase even more. As far as Bai Xiaochun was concerned, if he hadn’t been able to put the puzzle pieces together, it would have meant he was a complete idiot. After all, it seemed obvious that the gravekeeper had noticed how outstanding he was, and that he wanted him to accept his legacy and become the next Hell-Emperor!
The mere thought of becoming the Hell-Emperor got Bai Xiaochun profoundly excited. However, he cleared his throat and humbly said, “Um… Great-Grandpa, the truth is that I’m not really that outstanding…. However, I can say that I’m ready! Uh, right. What does the successor of the Hell-Emperor actually have to do?”
The gravekeeper looked deeply into Bai Xiaochun’s eyes and said, “He will enter the Underworld River, and deliver his soul to the Underworld Palace. He will guard the sovereign’s tomb and watch over the cycle of reincarnation. He will defend the Worldgate, and refuse to open it for anyone who is illegitimate!”
Bai Xiaochun was a bit taken aback. The last part of what the gravekeeper had just said seemed interesting, but there was something a bit unsettling about the first part.
“Great-Grandpa, what do you mean by ‘deliver his soul to the Underworld Palace’? If his soul goes into the Underworld River, doesn’t that mean… that he has to die?” When he saw the gravekeeper nod in response, he gasped, and his face turned as white as a sheet.
“Great-Grandpa, er…. Look, I’m really not very outstanding. I’m just a regular person! I get restless easily, and have a lot of faults. If I’m in charge of the Underworld River, bad things will probably happen. Evil Emperor is Wild Consort It’s too big of a responsibility for a kid like me. Um… why don’t you pick someone else? I’ll… I’ll see you later, Great-Grandpa!” He took a step back, but before he could do anything more, the gravekeeper’s hand shot out toward him as if to grab him.
Bai Xiaochun let out a yelp.
“I’m really not the best choice, Great-Grandpa! Wherever I go, I accidentally cause huge disasters! I don’t want to cause a disaster for you! I–“
“Pipe down! I’m not so much of an idiot that I would pick you to be my successor!” As it turned out, what the gravekeeper had grabbed was not Bai Xiaochun, but his bag of holding. All of a sudden, Bai Hao’s soulhoarding pagoda flew out into the open and came to rest on the gravekeeper’s palm.
“The person I’ve picked to be my successor isn’t you,” he said coolly, “it’s Bai Hao.”
“Huh?” Bai Xiaochun replied, visibly stunned.
Next Chapter Chapter 345 – Advancing Forwards Pt. 2
The next morning, the four of them left Enchanting Village, and following Nicole’s lead, rushed towards the direction of this hidden valley. However, the more they walked, the more Suo Jia felt that something was strange; why did their surroundings look so familiar?
Finally, the air around them gradually turned chillier. As the cold winds shrieked past, Suo Jia recognized the place; wasn’t this near Icebound City?
Doubtful, Suo Jia hesitantly asked Nicole, “Um…Nicole, exactly where is this place you want to go to? What is it called?”
“Mm…” After some thoughts, Nicole’s eyes lit up and she happily replied, “Aiya, I just remembered. Outside the valley entrance, I seemed to have seen a stone tablet that had the words: Icebound Valley!”
“Mother of…” Upon hearing Nicole’s reply, Suo Jia couldn’t help but grow dizzy. Without saying another word, he turned around and walked in the direction they’d come from. Seeing this, although they didn’t know what Suo Jia was doing, the other three hurriedly chased after Suo Jia.
The party headed west and rushed to Blazing City. This time, since all four people were present, Suo Jia took out all the junk from his 9 interspatial rings and his main ring to store 3000 barrels of Blazing Liquor, enough for all four of them.
Then, under Suo Jia’s lead with the Diamond Dragon opening up their path, the four managed to rush to Icebound City in just four days. Aside from Suo Jia, this was the first time the other three had visited a city in the north.
After unloading the liquor at the tavern that Suo Jia had personally set up, Suo Jia chose a direction and led his group members back to Icebound Valley. Only then did Nicole suddenly realise that the path Suo Jia had taken was actually the easiest one.
After stowing enough liquor, the group of four left from the other side of Icebound City, and headed towards Icebound Valley from the detailed path marked on the city map.
It wasn’t very far, and the four soon encountered a large amount of magical beasts. These were different from other beasts; the magical beasts outside Icebound City were all ice elemental. When scanning around, there was absolutely no way of distinguishing what was snow and what was a beast.
In addition, Suo Jia felt powerless because, while the magical beasts here weren’t completely immune to ice elemental magics, the freezing and sealing effects were entirely ineffective.
However, although these effects had disappeared, the destructive power of the magic hadn’t. Ice Roar, the ice blades, or the rain of arrows from Hailstone still had their physical attack power. Although Suo Jia’s strength had been weakened, it was clear that it hadn’t been completely eradicated.
They pushed forwards with difficulty for an entire day, but when they stopped, they realised that they had only just moved a small distance. At the sight of the densely packed ice monsters, they couldn’t help but sigh.
In admiration, Roger praised Nicole, “Heavens, I really can’t imagine how you were able to charge through alone. Don’t tell me…these magical beasts saw that you were female, and lowered themselves to your level?”
Next Chapter Chapter 3 – Body Transformation!
Qing Shui dejectedly walked out of the Qing Mansion. Other than going to the nearby hills and mountains, he had no other place to go. Coming to this place, a place where he had visited countless times before, he looked towards the horizons, over the peaks of endless mountains and deep valleys, thoughts of suicide crossing his mind. However, every time he thought of suicide, memories of a woman filled with gentleness and hope would appear in his thoughts. He told himself that no matter what, he must persevere and live on. For the sake of that hope-filled gaze which belonged to his mother!
Qing Shui was unwilling to remain as a trash like this. The more he thought about it, the more anger he felt. When the anger inside of him bottled up to the point of eruption, traces of madness appeared in his eyes and he roared at the heavens. “Sh*tty heavens, I will never give up! If you want to suppress me, I, SHALL, SUPPRESS, YOU!” A voice filled with a thousand ounces of unhappiness echoed far and wide.
After yelling, Qing Shui deliriously chose a path up the mountain and began to sprint upwards. He wanted to vent all of his negative emotions, such as the dissatisfaction and anger he felt by exhausting his energy. He felt that he might explode if there was no outlet for release.
The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. Only sprinting a short distance actually made him emphysematous and starting to feel tightness in his chest; Qing Shui gritted his teeth, ignored his body reactions and continued sprinting onwards.
Aches in his body, coupled with the difficulty in breathing resulted in rivulets of sweat, akin to the flow of a small stream cascading down his face. This actually stimulated his will to persist.
“I will not admit defeat, I have to be stronger, I must endure…….” Qing Shui was already delirious as he haphazardly ran around for an unknown amount of time. He ran and ran and ran, to the point where he was no longer fully conscious. And finally, darkness claimed him.
Time passed slowly by, the skies had already turned dark as the moon rose to its acme. Cascading downwards was beams of silvery light, looking as gentle as an angel descending from the heavens, casting their shine onto Qing Shui. Qing Shui was still unconscious, his delicate body looked tiny and pitiful where he had fainted, halfway up the mountain pass.
Back in the Qing Clan, Qing Yi was in a fluster as she realised that Qing Shui was missing. She immediately went to the nearby hills Qing Shui frequented in an attempt to search for him. However, there were no traces to be found. Unwilling to give up, she persisted on to no avail.
Qing Yi returned to the Qing Clan in a panic and hurriedly ordered all of the servants and slaves to join in the search for Qing Shui. Everyone became terrified as they witnessed an insane looking Qing Yi display her power. Only now did they remember that she was actually an expert, her previous graceful and gentle demeanor had completely disappeared as she searched for Qing Shui.
At the moment right before Qing Shui fainted due to over exhaustion, there was an endless rush of knowledge and information gushing into his mind. It was as if a hidden door had been forced open.
Strengthening Techniques, Meditation Techniques, Alchemy, Smithing Skills, Hidden Weapon Techniques, Tailoring, Cooking, Hunting, Foundation Building skills and various other Craftsmen techniques . . . . . . . . . .
“Ahhh, aren’t these the abilities I had when I was playing [Western Fantasy]? Why would they appear in my mind now? Even more incredible, there are also detailed methods of cultivation! But sadly, other than this [Ancient Strengthening Technique], the others seem to be useless to me.
Qing Shui was very excited, in [Western Fantasy] , the human race had the highest capacity for learning. Those that cultivated to the pinnacle of martial arts could even fight with celestials and demons. However, he understood that in this world, there were no gods or demons; the strongest warriors here would only be able to instantly destroy cities with the wave of a hand.
From his experiences playing [Western Fantasy], Qing Shui knew that the strongest skills were not martial art techniques but were instead the complementary support arts, like strengthening and foundation building techniques. Even with no martial arts techniques, just by building one’s foundation, one could become invincible; that is if one practises to the zenith of foundation building arts and strengthening techniques. As the saying goes, practicing martial arts without establishing your foundation well, in the end it will all be for naught!
Qing Shui also realised that the names of the techniques, as well as their detailed description in ways of cultivating were all deeply imprinted in his mind. He had gained the ability to memorise anything he saw instantly!
Like a mirage, after the images of all the different skills from [Western Fantasy] flashed through his mind, a gigantic image of Yin and Yang appeared in his sea of consciousness!
An image of Tai-Chi! Or should I call it Yin Yang?
As the ancient dictum goes “After the chaotic world had been created, it was divided into Yin and Yang by the creator in order to stabilize the world”, Alright, Qing Shui thought, he decided to refer to it as Yin and Yang.
After this, the Yin-Yang image gradually shrunk to the size of a seed. Slowly and continually rotating, fixed in his sea of consciousness. Qing Shui could slightly feel that with each round of rotation, the symbol actually emitted a miniscule amount of energy. This energy flowed towards all of the major meridians, energy channels and organs in his body, slowly transforming them.
At this instant, Qing Shui felt as if his body contained boundless amounts of energy. However, he was confused. Didn’t I die from electrocution while playing [Western Fantasy]? Why did the abilities from [Western Fantasy] appear here today?
Could it be that it is somewhat related to me fainting from exhaustion?
Forget it. In the past I was a trash that couldn’t cultivate, no matter what transformation took place in my body, it cannot be worst that what it was originally!
Qing Shui was in a semi-conscious state. Despite feeling immensely invigorated in comparison to his past self, he was still unable to regain consciousness. He could sensed that the rotation of the Yin-Yang symbol in his mind would rotate continually for eternity. Qing Shui was unsure of the actual reason, but he had a very strong intuition that this symbol will change his destiny!
All of a sudden, he heard voices calling out his name!
“Ah, its mother!”
Heard Qing Yi calling out his name desperately, he felt a surge of warmth in his heart. He kept wanting to call out to her but was unable to.
“He is here, we found him!” Qing Shui heard an unknown voice calling out in front him.
“Qing Shui! Qing Shui!” Qing Shui heard his mother calling him in anguish. Even without looking, he could sense that her face was filled with tears and contorted by grief.
After that, he felt Qing Yi tightly embracing him; that familiar warm hug reminded him of how this beautiful and gentle woman had single-handedly raised him, causing him to feel very blessed but also gave him hints of heartache. He increasingly hated the guy who had abandoned her. Qing Shui swore that in the future, he would definitely redress this for Qing Yi
After some time had passed, Qing Shui slowly drifted off into sleep. Before that, he could still feel someone taking his pulse and hints of conversation between Qing Yi and others.
Qing Shui drifted off into sleep with a smile on his face, he had a feeling that the sun tomorrow would shine especially brightly!!

Both the symbol of Tai-chi and Yin-Yang have the same meaning, just differently named.

Chapter 4 – Ancient Strengthening Technique
The next day, just when dawn was breaking, Qing Shui awoke naturally. He noticed that Qing Yi was sitting next to his bed, holding his hands. Hints of worry and exhaustion could be seen on her face, even her gentle and beautiful eyes had traces of blood in them!
After noticing that Qing Shui was awake, Qing Yi hugged him with a happy expression on her face.
“Shui’er, you’ve finally regained consciousness. Are you feeling alright? Is there any discomfort?!” Qing Yi ardently asked.
“Mother dearest..” Qing Shui tenderly called out, his heart filled with gratitude. Knowing that Qing Yi had stayed up the whole night just to accompany him tugged at his heart strings as bitterness filled his heart.
As he called out, Qing Yi could feel that there were hints of grievance and regret in his voice. In this world, as a male, if you could not hold your own against others, then no matter how much money you have you will still be trash! Even those of low cultivation would have the right to trample you. This dog-eat-dog world was simply following the simple logic of ‘might makes right’.
Qing Yi hugged her son tightly, feeling that she had somehow let him down.
“Mother, go to sleep. You must be very tired after staying awake the entire night.” Qing Shui could only adopt a child-like way of speaking in an attempt to coax Qing Yi to go sleep. Even so, Qing Yi felt warmth in her heart and could tell that Qing Shui’s intelligence was far above the norm. What a pity that he was unable to cultivate. If not for that, based on his high level of comprehension he would most certainly have been a genius. Not only that, he was ultimately the son born of her and that man..
But now… Sigh.. There was no use for regrets..
In the end, she was still coaxed by Qing Shui and obediently laid down on the bed. As Qing Shui wanted to get down from the bed to make space for Qing Yi, she reached out and embraced her little boy. Qing Shui nestled up close to her bosom and gently lay in his mother’s embrace.
Qing Yi promptly fell asleep. After all, she had been up for the whole night and was exceedingly weary. Seeing that Qing Shui was fine, she could finally relax and fell into a slumber.
After waiting for Qing Yi to fall asleep, Qing Shui lightly stepped out of the room, enthusiasm slowly filling his heart. Now, he was no longer the trash he had been! He felt that he had undergone a miraculous transformation. Maybe now… he could be like the others and embark upon the road of cultivation. It did not matter that he was slightly older than the rest when they started, as long as he had a inextinguishable will to succeed, then no matter how many obstacles there were before him, he would not stumble!
Qing Shui wanted to test his hypothesis. The moment he stepped out of the Qing Mansion, he started to run at top speed. At this moment, his heart was filled with trepidation, he was worried that all that had happened would turn out to be an illusion, and that his dream of cultivating would once again be shattered.
With only a single breath, he managed to run half the distance to the top of the mountain. Even though he was breathing hard, he did not feel asphyxiated, like in the past. There was a remarkable difference when compared to before! He felt that since last night, his body had undergone an extremely phenomenal change. After contemplating on it, he guessed that it must be because of that image of Yin-Yang which was now embedded in his sea of consciousness!
Qing Shui closed his eyes, slowly entering into a state of mediation. His spirit gradually going into his sea of consciousness where he saw the Yin-Yang symbol again. The Yin-Yang symbol was rotating relentlessly, emitting unending streams of energy, slowly transforming Qing Shui’s body and organs.
During the bout of unconsciousness yesterday, a lot of information regarding foundation building and strengthening techniques had flowed into his mind. He had already decided there and then that he would use them to strengthen his constitution. Moreover, as of now, he no longer had the same frail and delicate body from before. The Yin-Yang symbol in his sea of consciousness was constantly nourishing him with energy, slowly transforming his body. He was sure that alongside with his current physique, by practising the Ancient Strengthening Technique diligently, he would not need too much time before the quality of his body would become stronger than common cultivators.
Time flowed by quickly, dawn had already arrived. Looking at the sun slowly rising up, casting its golden glow onto the organisms of the earth, the freshness of the air in these mountains as well as the fragrance of the flowers and plants, they made one feel joy in one’s hearts.
Qing Shui tidied up the various information in his mind and decided to focus all of his attentions on mastering body strengthening techniques! The most important point of the strengthening technique lied in having a solid foundation. The toughness of his body and bones. As long as the quality of his body was strong enough, there would basically be no difference between him and the other cultivators.
Strengthening techniques formed the basis of a cultivator’s foundation, the technique that appeared in Qing Shui mind was one of the most ancient strengthening techniques ever created by mankind. It could even allow cultivators who cultivated it to it’s peak to clash with gods and demons. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that all strengthening techniques had traces of their origin come from the Ancient Strengthening Technique that Qing Shui was planning to practise. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that this technique was one of the strongest techniques!
Practising the Ancient Strengthening Technique could allow a cultivator to build up his constitution. The effects were somewhat similar to the rotating, seed-sized Yin-Yang symbol inside of him. The Ancient Strengthening Technique could also nourish one’s bones and marrow, refine the organs in one’s body, eventually evolving the muscles to become soft to the touch, yet at the same time also be capable of rivaling the toughest steel and iron!
This is what strengthening techniques meant. They could even greatly enhance the vitality of the practitioner!
Qing Shui tried to recall the details of the Ancient Strengthening Technique. It appeared that he could do so effortlessly, confirming the fact that he now had eidetic memory! The Yin-Yang symbol was also entwined with him, continually rotating within his sea of consciousness!
Qing Shui found a secluded spot and went over there to practise the Ancient Strengthening Technique. To practise it, one did not need to mediate. The cultivator only needed to calm his heart and slowly rotate the Qi inside their body.
Qing Shui started to analyse and fumble his way through the methods of cultivating the Ancient Strengthening Technique. After trying to do it for some time, he was still unable to form a single strand of Qi. Qing Shui persisted on as he knew that Rome wasn’t build in a single day. If it was that simple to become strong, the world would’ve already been filled with countless experts!
Qing Shui continue to persevere and continued attempting to form the strand of Qi over and over again. Each time he failed it merely motivated him to try harder and harder.
Gradually, Qing Shui began to feel numb. He had attempted this for what seemed like an eternity, but he was still unable to form that first strand of Qi!
After another hour passed, Qing Shui opened his eyes and realised that it was almost noon. He knew that he would have to return home soon, as he did not want Qing Yi to worry about him. Despite standing in this remote location for the whole morning, Qing Shui did not tired at all! He began to slowly jog back to Qing Mansion.
Upon arriving at the Qing Mansion, Qing Shui realised that the training session for the Qing Clan’s younger generation had yet to end. Now, while looking at them practising their close combat skills and swordplay, he felt nothing. The previous feelings of envy and jealousy he got while watching them had now been replaced with the determination to become even stronger than them!
After entering the courtyard, he bumped into Qing Luo. “Qing Shui, did you go out to play again? You should rest at home more and nurse your body back to health!” Qing Luo gently rebuked him.
“Grandpa, I was just taking a stroll near the entrance of the Qing Mansion, do not worry about me, I am completely fine!” Qing Shui knew that his grandfather was truly worried for him.
“En, you must be more careful. Today, I sent someone to Hundred Miles City to purchase the stalk of a 100 year old purple ginseng. We will boil and extract it’s essence so that you can have it for dinner tonight!” Qing Luo said with a doting gaze in his eyes.
Qing Luo could also tell that Qing Shui had exceptional intelligence. Every sentence of his was spoken with both clarity and intent, he was almost like an adult in terms of mentality. What a waste it was that he was unable to cultivate.. Qing Luo sighed..
Next Chapter Ancient Strengthening Technique: Chapter 5 – Qing Shui Cultivates!
These days were very peaceful, despite the fact that he was still unable to form that single strand of Qi, Qing Shui was still practising the Ancient Strengthening Technique relentlessly. He believed that he would succeed sooner or later.
The Yin-Yang symbol within his sea of consciousness was constantly nourishing his body, Qing Shui could feel his constitution slowly improving. The improvements did not refer to his muscles but to his bones and organs getting tougher!
Qing Shui still looked small and weak. However, amidst his skinny and delicate body frame one could now sense a hint of vitality that was not there before! The sense of charm inside his eyes had also grown to the point where it held a hint of profoundness.
Qing Shui knew that he should disclose his current body condition, letting them know that he had rebuilt his constitution and could begin to practise martial arts. Initially, Qing Shui planned to keep this a secret, but he longed for the day where the hope in Qing Yi’s eyes would be realised. Therefore, Qing Shui decided to tell Qing Yi the truth.
As he returned from the mountains, inside the courtyard of the Qing Mansion, the clan members from the 3rd generation were all zealously practising the Qing Clan secret technique – Blue Lotus Art
Due to Qing Shui being unable to cultivate for several years there was now a considerable distance between him and the other clan members, so they no longer cared when they saw this “trash” walk by.
At the innermost section of the Qing Mansion.
Qing Yi was standing at the house entrance. This was the place where both mother and son had stayed all of their life. There was a small garden here, completely filled with plants and flowers as well as a medium sized lake with azure coloured carps swimming around leisurely. It gave people a rustic feeling as they gazed at this place.
Qing Yi was standing by the lake side, her beautiful face alongside her gentle and graceful demeanour gave off a sense of beauty that could only be described as sinking fishes falling birds . At this moment it was as if Qing Yi was a perfect portrait of beauty! However, there were moments where one could sense sadness emanating out as she stood there.
Qing Shui already saw his mother from a distance away, this is the umpteenth times he saw Qing Yi standing in the exact same position. “Sigh… but what can I do now?” To attain her wish, I must first become stronger… Much stronger than I am currently.
At the age of 1, Qing Shui could already understand the things people said around him. Qing Yi naturally didn’t know this and would often sigh and talk to him about her secrets as a form of release when Qing Shui was still an infant.
Qing Shui covertly sneaked out before he shouting in a loud voice “Mother, I am back, I have recovered, I am fine now!!” He did not want Qing Yi to know that he had witnessed her despair earlier. He felt that this despair of hers was too personal for him to encroach upon, therefore Qing Shui decided to loudly announce his arrival so that Qing Yi could notice him.
It was just as he thought, once Qing Yi heard his voice her expressions instantly changed, greeting him with a smile on her face with no signs of her earlier melancholy.
Qing Shui felt a stab of pain in his heart. “Mother suffered so much, but in order not to let me worry, she always pretended to be happy in front of me. Only in the middle of the night, when there was no one around, would she finally cry out.”
“Mother, I have completely recovered! I can now cultivate!” Qing Shui happily smiled.
Qing Shui could see traces of happiness and the once extinguished hope rekindle in Qing Yi eyes!
“Did you do anything forbidden? Do not make me worry Qing Shui, I just want you to be happy..” Qing Yi slightly berated Qing Shui, because from her expert opinion it was almost impossible for Qing Shui to recover. There was almost no way for him to start cultivating because of his weak heart.
Qing Shui knew that it wouldn’t be that easy for Qing Yi to believe in it.
